Wedding colors

I waffle between wanting fun, bright, summery colors like lemon yellow and lime green and turquoise, and more muted tones like purples, creams and greys because that's more me. I feel like I should go bright since it'll be springtime, on the beach and in Jamaica, but I keep finding myself drawn to purple things. Like this bouquet (it's actually paper!!) that I saw in an Etsy shop.

Maybe try keeping the colors something that's at least a little you so that the wedding reflects some of your style.  The colors in the bouquet are awesome together.  I really can't believe that's paper either.. amazing!

You could do a little of both, a little bright and fun and a little of you.  I like neutral colors so I chose originally I wanted black and white with maybe an accent color.  The more I thought about it, though, the more I disliked that color scheme for a beach wedding.  So, I went to look at paint samples in a store - I know that sounds silly, but it was really nice to be able to put the colors together to see how they complimented each other.  After about ten minutes I decided I wanted coral and dark grey.  I really wanted at least one bright color to stand out against the ocean (we're getting married on the beach in Mexico)  but I didn't want to do have all bright colors because that just isn't my style, so I chose a comfort color.  I'm really happy with choice.  I've also stopped thinking about it; I chose my colors and I'm done. :)  So maybe something to keep in mind, that you can have the best of both.    The more I look at the picture of the flowers above, the more I LOVE those colors together... and I'm not a fan of purple. :)

My girlfriend did onyx, pewter and aqua-ish color.  It looked amazing, and really classy.   Here's one that has some colors you might like as a starting point since you like purples and greys (bourdeax, wisteria and silver):

Hi Jackie!

Are you looking for an additional colour for decorations and flowers?  Are the dresses a light champaign (like a nude) or darker?

I don't think you necessarily need an additional colour ... I've seen lots of pictures with white flowers, etc.  But if your heart is set on it I would do a shade of blue depending on the shade of champaign.  You could do a royal blue or a light aqua blue, which will look stunning with the beach and ocean.

I have to agree with puntabride, aqua and champagne looks beautiful together. Another color that would look nice is Victorian pink.

In agreement with Shay, a blush pink or something would look nice.  If you wanted something to stand out a little more, you could try a mint-colored green, a shade of bronze, or any blue or green would work.  Even a hot color like fuchsia would look good.  It all depends on what color palette you like in your own style.  Try incorporating a color you really like by varying the shade until you find the one.

I always tells girls to go to the paint aisle in a store and grab an ivory swatch and match it to various colors until you find one you like to compliment the champagne.. people may think it's crazy, but it's very helpful. :)

Good luck!

Hot pink and lime green may be hard to pull off for some people.  Lime green, especially, is one of those colors that doesn't flatter everyone.  Black and pink is a classy color combination.. and you could even do the hot pink with black.  Personally, I think that the hot pink will stand out marvelously in pictures.  I just have some reservations on pairing it with the lime green.  If you think your wedding party will look okay in that shade of green, then go for it. :)

I think the lime green and pink is HOT!! and completely different. Because they are both bold colors and pop you need to make one an accent color and one a main color with base color like yellow or orange. You can even do aqua or black as a base color.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
