Welcome Bags

Recommended Posts

Hello all you lovely beach brides out there,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me with information on Welcome bags. Is anyone planning on doing this for their guests or am I the only insane one?

I have found a place in Montego Bay that actually does the welcome bags for you and delivers them to the hotel so that guests can receive them once they check in, however I have a couple of extra things that I want to throw into the bags (welcome letter, travel mugs, map of resort and local map, itinerary for the wedding day and a list of "things to do') and am not sure of how to go about doing this.

Do you think that the wedding coordinator would partner in helping me add these things to the bags? I was also thinking of asking the resort to throw in all of the excursion brochures and other brocures as well to bulk it up but given that everyone seems to be having such a difficult time contacting the Wedding coordinator, I'm not exactly sure that they would be willing to help out and I need to figure that out ASAP so I know whether or not to order the bags from Jamaica or if it is going to be too big of a hassel to get help, just make them here and bring them?

Has anyone addressed this yet or is thinking of doing it? If so, how do you plan on doing so...... HELP A VERY CONFUSED SISTER OUT!!!! :)hissyfit.gif

Have you checked all the OOT threads? Your best bet for answers.. and there are a few of them

I would just ask the coordinator and see,..... I think that is your best bet as you really dont have a choice.. your idea is brilliant.. but if you are going to do it that way.. who else will you do it?

I'm curious though, on where you got your OOT in Jamaica. I have seen a few places that delivery, but thought they where a little over priced.. but I guess its a convenience thing... which is a big bonus.

Kassi-  Thank you :) Ya I have emailed her but as I think we are all aware of, she is taking her sweet time responding lol

I'm really contemplating how to do this, so hopefully I can come up with something. Worst case scenario, I might just give them two welcome bags haha one at the airport with all the info, welcome letter etc and the other upon check in from the place in Montego Bay.

The girl that I got in contact with for the OOT bags is Jo-Anne at Wedding Belles ( http://www.weddingbellesjamaica.com/services.html). I agree some things are over priced but as you said the convenience and also the little tastes of Jamaica I think are a really nice treat and special touch for our guests, not to mention a small token of our appreciation for making the trip (and I mean who doesn't love getting a little surprise here and there lol)

I have priced out everything and this is what we will be getting in the bags:

- Jamaica canvas beach bags as main bag

- small bottle of Appletons Rum

- bag of Jamaican Coffee

- 2 packs of Banana Chips

- a bottle of Jerk sauce

- a Post card

- Gizzada
- 2 bottles of water

We have to get 27 bags and the total will be $400 which I think is pretty decent. One bag per couple so not even $10 per person.

If you want me to send you their price list, let me know or send me your email. Thanks for your help :)

Hey thats an awesome price!! Im bringing down my own welcome bags with the normal things like hangover kit, survival kit, im doing barefoot sandals for all the ladies, and probably some other things but i really wouldnt mind adding some of the jamaican stuff. i wouldnt want the beach bag as i'm making my own personal one but the rum and jerk sauce maybe a rum cake...... do you know if they do the individual items or do you have to do a full bag? also is that for montego bay only or do they deliver to negril?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
