I'm a PR bride as well!!!  Still in the beginning stages of planning.  I hired a wedding planner and I'm working on booking a resort/venue.  Our date is June 23, 2013.  I can't wait to hear your opinions of different venues!  When are you going to visit?  Do you know what venues you're going to look at?  I've never been to PR before, and unfortunately I won't be able to visit before our wedding.  Good luck with your trip!

Hello all! Sorry it took me so long to post. My computer did not work out in PR. Anyhoot, letâ€s get to the details!

Photographer:

We booked David Medina. He and his wife were amazing!!! We were able to take our engagement photos while we were down there and we couldnâ€t be happier with our decision. They were kind, willing to work within our budget and had great ideas! They are a great team!!

Venues:

Ok we viewed many venues. We went as far as the West Coast of Puerto Rico, Rincon. Then we went back to the east coast.. here is what we found.

La Concha hotel- Very pretty lobby and great wedding coordinator, however the venue was too modern and chic. It almost looked as if we were in South Beach.. It didnâ€t say “Puerto Rico†to us and that is what we want. Jessica the coordinator at the hotel was great though, but it just wasnâ€t our style.

Conrad at the Condado- NO NO NO. Nothing good to tell about this hotel. The coordinator was in a rush as she was going on vacation and made sure to let us know that she was leaving right after our appointment. The venue is in close proximity to the airport and so while we were outside viewing their outdoor ceremony spot a plane passed by and we couldnâ€t hear a thing. Although the outdoor venue overlooks the ocean, I wouldnâ€t receommend this venue as the service was horrible and the fact that the loud noise from the planes can ruin your ceremony.

El San Juan- Nice place and very nice coordinator. Amnel was very accommodating and showed us around even though there was a storm brewing. In the end we didnâ€t really like their “plan b†and decided that this hotel just wasnâ€t for us. The outdoor area seemed nice, however their indoor room left much to be desired.

El Conquistador- Beautiful Hotel, however it was HUGE!!! It was too big and didnâ€t seem intimate enough. While walking the grounds with their coordinator she did say somethings that I found questionable. We were talking pricing and she said that if she was our coordinator she would give us some deals, however if she wasnâ€t she couldnâ€t get us the deal. This  seemed pretty shady and so we opted to keep it moving. Price per plate was about $180 and UP.

Hacienda Siesta Alegre- Absolutely gorgeous venue in Rio Grande. So intimate and inviting. We may use this place to host our welcome party.

El Convento- In a great area in Old San Juan however the indoor spaces were just not what we were looking for. There is NO option to get married outdoors here. There are only indoor reception rooms at this location.

Bahia St. Regis- OMG.. Absolutely everything we dreamed of. BEAUTIFUL grounds, BEAUTIFUL indoor and outdoor ceremony and reception options. While this venue is very expensive, we just couldnâ€t stop smiling once we left there. I actually wanted to cry, thatâ€s how happy I was. The grounds were immaculate, the ceremony location, the great lawn was huge and will give those brides the opportunity to walk down a long aisle while walking towards the ocean.

I would advise all brides to PLEASE PLEASE go view the venues. DO NOT rely on the pictures as they can be very deceiving. In the end I am soo glad that we took a week and went down there. Had we gone just on the pictures Iâ€m sure we would have not made the right choice.

If you have any other questions please feel to reach out. I am here to help.

Good luck to all my PR brides!

We have not hired a wedding coordinator just yet as we want to make sure that we hire the one who would best fit our style, however if any of you have please offer your advice on the subject.

I'm a Puerto Rico bride! That's where we got engaged, so what better place to tie the knot! Our date is April 26, 2013. It seems like I have looked at every venue on the island, but I think we finally settled on having the ceremony at El Morro or San Cristobal. The pics I've seen from weddings there are amazing! Still haven't found a location for the reception. Since it's a small wedding (40-50 people) we thought about having dinner/drinks/music at a restaurant that offers private dining. Then the wedding party/people that want to party on can go to an "after reception" party in downtown San Juan. Lord knows I'm gonna need a drink when we finally pull this thing off. Still lots to do, but excited to hear from other Puerto Rico brides! Good luck with everything!

I am so excited that I found all of you.  I too am getting married in PR in 2013.  I just got engaged las week, so as you all know I am totally overwhelmed. We are debating going there for a couple of nights to look at different hotels, but just don't know if we can afford it.  Sexxymela thank you for all the info on different venues.  Right now I am looking into La Concha, Marriott San Juan Resort and Stellaris Casino, and Hilton Caribe.  My fiance is from RR and his entire family lives there so they all have been a huge help.

How many people are coming to your wedding?

Right now I am waiting to see who can come or not.  I sent an informal email out to all that I would like to join us.  How long should I give them to respond???

Please keep the info coming ladies as I will do the same.

I am getting married at La Concha on June 21, 2013.  My wedding coordinator is Rosalina Torres.  She is wonderful!  She has helped me get a photographer (Tuty Feliciano), DJ (Jose Concepcion), officiant (Cory Casterton), decorator, and baker.  And she has helped get me better deals on their services!  If anyone has any questions, let me know!

I havent seen any all-inclusive resorts in the traditional sense.  I think El Conquistador does an all-inclusive rate package but only for food, doesn't include alcohol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
