Breezes Bahamas???

I am in the process of planning a Breezes wedding. Right now I am getting very irritated with them. First of all, the photography and videography seem to be over priced and not that great. But of course, the charge $1,000 to use offsite coordinaters. It seems a bit like exploitation to me.

And then on top of that, they charge extra for you to have a bartender at the private reception. I understand paying extra for the menu for a private reception but paying more for a bartender at an all-inclusive resort seems to be a bit much.

Are you doing the basic package or did you upgrade? I plan on doing the private reception so that's interesting that we will have to pay extra. I like that the price is affordable for my guests, but am getting nervous on if there will be a bunch of extra charges.

I will be doing an upgraded version. There are some extra charges. On top of the charge for the menu for private reception ($20+ per person) you also have to pay to rent out the area for the private reception. I haven't gotten the information on those prices as yet. There is also the fee for the bartender as well. Those are my main concerns right now.

Other than that, the videography and photography packages seem to be a bit much for what you are getting. I was hoping to bring an offsite vender but they charge $1000 to do that. So that is no longer an option for me.  DJ's start at $300 for two hours and calypso bands start at $375 per hour. Updgraded wedding arches are $300, table centerpieces are $40 each. Upgraded bouquets are $30.00 each etc.

You can request to get a packet of everything from the stateside wedding coordinator. When is your date?

I am planning on getting married sometime around March 20, 2013...I wish I knew someone who had gotten married there before! It will just be me and my fiancee and we want something super simple. Unfortunately, our family will not be attending but we do want to make sure we have tons of photographs and video to show them. The prices are pretty high for what you get! And yeah the charge on hiring outside is too extreme to even consider. I think that before and after my ceremony I'm going to have to get random strangers to take more pictures of us as sad as that sounds. I am also worried about it being windy. I don't want my pictures to have my hair going crazy!! Does anyone know if this resort has air conditioning?? That would be very upsetting if it didn't! What are you girls wearing? I love the blingy wedding dresses, however I don't think that's appropriate for a wedding on a beach/gazebo (still haven't decided which one yet). I was thinking about going with a short dress, too but I don't want to not wear heels because I am only 4"11! I NEED that four extra inches, especially for pictures! haha

Hey, newly wed! How was the wedding? Hope it was amazing. Please share photos when you return. And congrats!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
