Looking for more cozy/authentic Mexico venue - less corporate than MP....

Recommended Posts

I'm new here but I'm loving the reviews. I was planning a Feb 2013 wedding at Moon Palace. I've been there on vacation before and loved it....but I'm starting to see the photos and realizing it's a lot more corporate/typical American wedding than I want it to be.

We're going to have a very small guest list (maybe 20-25). I was hoping to find a private villa to rent out, but haven't had luck finding something not outrageously expensive. MP is so afforadable, but just doesn't give that warm, intimate wedding vibe I want.

Any suggestions? I'm hoping for a beach ceremony, so I need a place with good water/sand. Also, hoping for just some lights and a long table set up for guests on the beach for reception. Down to earth, intimate.

Thanks!

I personally don't know, but we have photographers who shoot in that region extensively at a wide variety of venues.  You can check out their work and you might find a place that suits you.  Links are to the right of your screen.  Good luck!

Hello Ksmith,

Riviera Maya has beautiful villas that you can choose from depending on your budget, your length of stay and your wedding date.

I did a wedding for 40 guests last summer in one of the villas and everyone had tons of fun.

I would be happy to assists you in making your wedding beautiful, romantic, personal and fun.

Happy planning

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
