Help-Destination Wedding Suggestions

Recommended Posts

Ok so we have decided on a destination wedding.  However I am having a hard time trying to figure out what would be the cheapest location for us to get married out.  We have been getting a lot of flack of how expensive a destination wedding is going to be for our guest.  Therefore, I am trying to find a location that will inexpensive to travel to, and also have reasonable accomodations.  I want the hotel to be all inclusive, and want the price per person to be $700 is this possible?

I had a similar conversation with my mother about me being inconsiderate for wanting a destination wedding. But to answer your question I don't know how you feel about cruising. This is seems to be the least expensive option for my family and I. The cruise I chose prices begin at $637 for 5 days not including travel to the port. I hope this helps.msnwink.gif

Speak with a TA or too.  They should be able to help pinpoint the perfect place w/ the best budget option.  And...the wedding is about what you want, not your guests.  It would be nice to have everyone show up, but not everyone will.  However, it will be an amazing trip for you and the FI!

I can understand wanting it to be cheap for people to travel.. i had this disscussion as well because people were concerned but in the end me and my fiance made the decision to do what is right for us. After all people have to understand that this is a wedding not just a vacation. it is very easy anytime of year for people to book cheap 700-900 all inclusive vacations, but for a wedding we wanted something nicer and something you wouldnt just do as your annual vacay. We just had to realize and accept that not everyone would be able to make it. Those that love you and really want to be there will make it possible what ever the price. you have to realize that with most 700 all inclusives you getting a 2 or 3 star hotel.. which in mexico or the DR is not the greatest of hotels and is usually packed with young springbreaker types.

Not saying that you probably wont be able to find something nice for that range but it will be very difficult, hopefully you find something

We searched all of the travel sites and found which destination would have the cheapest flights. Since our families will come from Houston or New Orleans, Jamaica was the cheapest flights by far and that is how we chose that destination. Once we picked a country, I found an AI resort to match our needs and budget. Good luck! Anywhere will be amazing

I would say that probably isn't possible just because the cost of airline tickets has gone up significantly.  Alone, I've seen flight from 550-1100 for my destination wedding in Mexico.  I would say realisticly speaking the cost would be around $1100-$1600 per person including flight.

Thank you, ladies for all your feedback.  We are still trying to firgure everything out.   I originally thought about a cruise wedding because I thought it would be the cheapest.  A lot of people were like they dont like cruises, so I quickly changed it to a destination.  Will see how everything goes.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
