Majestic Colonial and/or Elegance in Punta Cana Ceremony Times.. Or any input, please.

Recommended Posts

My travel agent is asking me what our ideal ceremony time would be so that she can see if it is available.... We are wanting to do the ceremony and then take pictures with everyone, etc.. And then go to dinner.. I believe the dinner times start at 6 or 6:30.. And we didn't want to have to wait several hours between the ceremony and dinner...

Our date, we hope, is Wednesday May the 29th, 2013.

What ceremony times are you ladies doing or thinking about??...

I also got married in May (in Jamaica) and we had our ceremony at 5 pm and our rehearsal dinner was probably at 6:30 or 7?  We went directly from the ceremony to pictures and then to the reception.  The timing was pretty perfect, I thought.

Ahh.. okay. Thanks for sharing!.. Our only two options were 12 or 6:00 for the date we chose, so of course we went for 6:00. I read the sun begins to set at 7:05 and the restaurant opens around 6:30 so I'm hoping this will be perfect! :o)

We are booking at this resort and I have finally got a date of May 13, 2013 at 3pm.  We have been finding it hard to secure the Judge in the Dominican seeing as they only have 2 in the Punta Cana area.  But finally today we got the news that we have secured the judge and the time.  I would have liked it later in the day - but we are taking what we can get.

Hope yours works out too and good luck...

Congrats!!.. I heard there was only 1 judge.. but that's good there is 2! We were planning on doing a civil ceremony.. But my TA and ME's WC was totally against it.. So we opted for getting legally married in the states.. and taking our certificate to ME so the wedding coordinator could perform our ceremony and "marry us"  we aren't going to tell anyone we are going this route.. But really it will be just the same.. I read reviews of the judge changing times and dates and since I have plastered my date and time on everything and to everyone I didn't want it to change.. But I hope it isn't like that anymore!

Are you doing the Chapel, Beach or Gazebo?

My TA confirmed to me today that we are confirmed for The Gazebo at 6:00 on May 29th, 2013!! :o)

I originally wanted 5:00.. but 6 is close enough.. Cooler, def sounds better to me!!

Are you having your ceremony at ME? :o) sorry, If I've already asked.. I can't keep up with all my ME brides (never thought there would be soo many PC brides!) so I'm putting them on my calendar in my wedding binder.  :o)

Freaking out!!!

I contacted ME yesterday to find out what symbolic ceremony times they had available from May 5th-12th 2013 that were after 4pm ... they only had one ceremony available on the 9th @ 1pm.  I couldn't believe it.  So I inquired about the next available date with a late afternoon wedding .... not until May 21st.  So I inquired about April .... the only day they had after 4pm was April 11th .  This cannot be right.  There is noooo way that every day at 5:00pm is filled already for April and May next year.  That is insane.  Not sure what I'm going to do now!

My understanding is that they leave the late afternoon spots open during the high peek wedding season for civil ceremonies.  It seems that the symbolic ceremonies are generally earlier in the day.

I'm getting married here on 9/15.  We do that the 4pm time slot on the beach but I was originally told that it was reserved for civil ceremonies.  September is a slow season for them though, so I'm assuming that is why we are able to do our symbolic ceremony.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
