anyone doing a beach reception and renting "lounge decor"??

Recommended Posts

We rented lounge decor for our cocktail hour and I loved the way it looked plus I didn't want all my guests just standing around for a hour.  It was going to be available for the whole evening so guests could use it during the reception as well, but it started to rain, alot, and they had to take it back to storage.  I should have some pictures soon!

Yikes that's expensive for 8 people! But I guess that's how these countries get you when you want a DW haha!

We thought it was such a money saver doing a DW, which it definitely is but all the extra fees and decor rentals & item prices are INSANE! Too bad we can't bring furniture with us ;)

Our lounge furniture cost about $500 and that was for seating for 16 plus delivery and set up fees.  Sadly the only pictures of the furniture I have are in a video so I can't post them but they were white couch type things that had pillows in orange and pink to match my colors.  We also had coffee tables done in white with clear glass like tops and small round tables in orange and pink.  Here's a pic with one of the tall orange tables.

I can help Janette (we got married at the same resort!)...

We ordered two sets of seating for 8 at 2,500 pesos per set plus a flat rate of 1000 pesos for delivery to the resort and set up (6,000 pesos total or around $430 USD converted today).  We were so glad we did...the resort had a nice area to place them and otherwise I guess our guests would have been up on their feet from 3:30 - 6:30...the chairs used for the ceremony went into the palapa for the reception.  My Dad made a comment that he wished the resort had put more of the lounge furniture out...he didn't realize we had to pay for those!!!  We probably could have used one more set for our group of 32.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
