DW Photographers

Recommended Posts

Good day everyone,

I know that there was a thread created already for this topic but I've found that its been buried and isn't active much anymore.

Sarah and I are back to the drawing board with our photographer. Unfortunately the one which we had booked has been taken captive by a family commitment.

My question is:

Which photographer are you all using for your Dominican Republic wedding? If you would be so kind as to PM us any and all information that you're willing to share it would be tremendously appreciated.

Thank you all!

Myles & Sarah

i don't know if this is the thread that you were referring to - probably not since it's stickied and can't be buried! lol but anyway, it will give you a lot of photogs to consider, though probably not local to DR. but thought i'd post it anyway! http://bestdestinationwedding.com/fo...ographers.html

and hopefully some of the DR brides will respond soon.

when it comes to DW photographers you dont really have to worry about a certain area and ones that specialize there. i have found that most photographers that do DW's are willing to just about anywhere. go into the threads that photographers post and look around and find ones that you like and just start emailing or calling and you will soon find a great one within your budget and one that you click with personality wise. there are tons of good photographers out there and on this site. hope to see the photos soon after your wedding

thanks...

ya never set limits for yorself when it comes to choosing the photographer. that is the one thing you are reallyyyy going to look over for the rest of your life to remember your wedding. make sure that the photographer is not just within your budget but someone whose style you enjoy and someone whose personality is one that matches with yours. maybe you want a photographer who is very avant garde or over the top or one who is reserved and traditional or very non chealant (doubt i spelled that one right)

also theeee most important bit of advice i can ever give. MAKE SUURE you see the photos from an entire wedding. never settle for just a few select ones. any monkey can be given a camera and capture a few quality images if you dont see the same quality through out the entire wedding i really strongly suggest you keep looking

Again, totally agree. I lucked out with my photog (Jonathan Thrasher). DH and I clicked with him and loved his style and beautiful work ...he was great!!

BTW, thank you for posting helpful advice without trying to sell yourself...we all appreciate that here.. and like you said, we all have different preferances in style, etc.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
