How much are you spending on travel?

Recommended Posts

We just bought our flights, roundtrip non-stop it was a total of $1080 ($540 each).  Our AI resort stay is going to end up costing us $600 for 5 nights (it's this cheap because of amenities that were worked into our group rate contract..I had to negotiate that part in).  So, our total cost of flights plus resort stay will be $1,680 for 5 nights.

A couple of nights after the wedding, he and I are checking out and going to another resort for our honeymoon which are separate costs.

Well I just looked at our budget and it seems that we would be well over $8000 but that includes flights from Victoria BC Canada to Houston Texas and cruise fare. We are paying for my FI and I as well as our DD and FMIL, FBIL and FSIL because they wouldn't be able to save enough to come and it is really important for FI to have them there. This price also includes hotels for us before the cruise and transportation from the airport as well. It also includes a second week on the ship just for FI and I to stay and have our wedding so I think it is pretty good.

The budget seems to go up very fast....without a lot of work lol but once in a lifetime right!!!

We are paying just under $3300 for us and my son including flights and tax for 1 week AI. We are staying a second week but it's being paid for by FIs parents as our wedding gift! The one thing that sucks though is my son is being charged adult rate for the resort even though he will only be 14. I don't think he's going to be drinking that much booze... haha!

Oh that does suck! You never know though he might sneak a few coronas!!

The rate on the cruise is the same no matter if you are a kid or an adult so my 4 year old DD will be the same price as me eek.gif

Oh well I am sure they will have fun!....on the cruise it is a bit tougher for kids to get alcohol...but it also means an added expense for us and our guests....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
