How much are you spending on travel?

Recommended Posts

Please include costs of airfare, hotel, meals, and other travel costs for you, your fiancé, and anyone else that you are paying for.

It seems there was a lot of confusion over at the "How much do you think your destination wedding will cost?" thread about what costs to include or not include, and someone suggested breaking down costs by categories, which I think is a great idea.  Site administrators, I hope I'm not stepping on any toes!  Don't mean to, just seemed like people were confused.

We payed $3600 for both our 1 week all inclusive trips plus travel insurance.  We did however get $1900 back from Transat as they had a promotion where if you booked 15 people the 16th gets a free trip so we  were given that money back.  So in the end our travel only cost us $1700 for both of us.

Wow that's a nice surprise!  We are paying about 3400$ for one week, and we'll probably tack on an extra week when we know more about costs.  May as well, since we'll already be down there!

We're just paying for my FI's son for the week  (1100). Our eng gift from my mom, is her paying for our flights. Due to the # of ppl we are booking, we are getting up to 4 people for free (they just have to pay the tax), so I'm going to kick that back to my mom, dad, grandma and brother.

We are paying about $2000 for both of us for our resort. My fiances brother is gifting us our flights down, he travels alot for business and has tons of miles. Our resort is not AI so we have to budget for food and drinks which shouldnt be more than $1000 for the week for both of us.

We're hoping to do that as well if we get enough people!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
