RSVP info! Help please....

Recommended Posts

Hey Ladies I was just wondering how far out you all are requesting your RSVP's to be in? What is the standard? With all the OOT bags to make and little DIY projects I want to do I feel like I can't do anything till I know how may people are attending. Are you all just guesstimating how many people will attend and then going forward with your projects or are you waiting? I don't want to waste any precious time and money on unnecessary things. Any info or insight would be great and appreciated.

Thanks and Happy Planning :)

Our RSVP date was about 3 months before we left.  I think most people do about 2-4 months just to give themselves enough time to prepare the OOT bags ect.  We did have some people who didn't RSVP who did tell us about a week before we were leaving that they were coming.  So do plan for a few last minute straglers.

We requested ours back 12 months in advance of our wedding date because we had to pay for all of the events on a per person basis 4 weeks prior to the wedding and we figured there would be a couple of people we would need to track down. Though I still to this day have never heard back from quite a few people... I didnt know people could be so rude! It's just not that difficult to check "no" and send it back in the already post marked envelope we provided them.... but I digress... I ordered our OOT items about 6 weeks ago, with many of the items coming from Amazon and we have the prime shipping option so mostly everything was delivered within 2 days of my ordering it.

We leave for our wedding in 10 days and unfortunately just had 3 people cancel, so we are now stuck paying for their dinner at the reception, rehearsal dinner, and cocktail hour as well as all of the OOT bag items we purchased. I almost feel like it is easier and better in the long run to underestimate the total guest number because you can always buy more or add on people last minute, but cant always get your money back sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
