St. James Club - Antigua HELP

Hi. I've seen things posted on here about Antigua but it has been limited.  Has anyone been married at  the St, James Club?  Any tips?  After issues with the Verandah in Turks & Caicos we had to settle on this resort for our wedding.  I am curious about the locations since the map on the website is not very helpful.  I am also wondering if anyone had a private reception and where it was held?  Did you bring your own decorations?  Please spill the beans. I am getting married in July and need all the help I can get.

I plan to get married next year in Antigua most likely at the St. James Club. I can't really answer much of your questions but you can check out http://www.antiguanice.com/v2/weddings.php. You can find different vendors here as well as more information about Antigua. I have never been to St. James Club yet but I have been to Antigua three times and may be able to answer some other questions for you non resort related. I hope you will post reviews of St. James Club afterwards to help future brides like myself since such little info is posted. Also, here is there link to their facebook page for weddings (lots of pictures of real weddings)

Hi Richard.  I had not received any responses on here however, I searched some other sites & met some brides and was given information from them.  I did talk to the  WP Paula who is nice but very hard to get in touch with. It seems that they refer everyone to their facebook page.  I took a peak at it a few times and not much to be honest that was very helpful.  I also was hoping for an outdoor reception but they keep pushing for Piccolo Mundo's.  She did say  that they close that at 10 pm ( if that makes a difference for you).  They say the weather in July varies and if I were to do it outside  they recommended a tent for the amount of people I am having.  If you contact them they did send me a list of things for the day such as cake choices, florist info, & food choices. I have to be honest, some of it was confusing as well ( the menu).  Be aware they charge a gratuity per plate.  Let me know if you need more info.  Are you planning a big wedding?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
