How many people should you invite to your destination wedding?

Currently our guest list is at 109, do we invite the whole guest list as not everyone will come or do we scale it down? How many ppl are or did you invite to your destination wedding and how many people ended up coming or are coming?

Thanks brides to be!

We invited about 70 and that included only family and close close friends.  And we have about 45 coming.. so i think it all depends on where you are having it and what kind of people you want there. like i didn't want work friends or friends that i see every now and then or all of my parents friends.  so it's really up to you!

We invited 75. We know that 20 of them definitely won't go due to financial reasons or not wanting to travel. I'm hoping for 30-40 people to attend. We invited immediate families, relatives that we speak with regularly and close friends. No one from work and no one that we haven't spoken with in the past 5 years.

I'm inviting about 100, around 40 of which I know for sure will come, 30 are maybes, and the rest are no's...mostly family and good friends, no one that we haven't hung out with in person in the past year. We'll see what the numbers turn out to be!

For our wedding, we invited about 70 people.  Of the 70 people, 20 were for sures. (close family and friends).  Our wedding total was 35 people which was intimate enough, not too big, and not too small.  It was perfect, because we got to dance the night away, hang our with our closest family and friends, and there wasn't anybody who felt left out.  Our only caviat was no children, because we wanted the parents to have a good time without worrying too much about the children.  We had a couple of friends who had kids, but found sitters for the week.  They were thrilled at the opportunity to get away for a week without having to worry about the kids.

For our destination wedding, we invited about 70 people and 38 made it, mostly family and close friends. IMO, it was a the perfect size group. We had always discussed that we wanted to spend quality time with all our guests as they made the time and financial committment to come celebrate us. With our group size, we had time to spend with everyone - some at the beach, at the pool, for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and just drinking & hanging out in the lobby/beach bar in the evening. We even had one evening to spend with just each other with a romantic dinner on the beach as that is also important. If our group was any bigger, we would have difficulty fitting in quality time to spend with everyone. In the end, whoever makes it to your DW are those amazing people who want to share in your happiness and special day! We are having our AHR this weekend and are inviting everyone on the original list including those who made it to Mexico. We have about 60 people who RSVP'ed yes already.

Best wishes everyone :)

Our invite list maxes at 36, 18 of which will definitely attend and we anticipate 25 guests total. We only invited imediate family (parents, siblings, neither of us have living grandparents) and our close friends. Or gueslist consists of those that we truely want to be part of our day, and not based on expectation. A close and intimate wedding was our objective.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
