Yay ladies!!!!! Congrats to everyone who leaves soon! I just got back last night and it was the trip of a lifetime! Had so much fun and we had the best crew and everyone got along famously and exchanged info at the end to keep in touch. The week was fabulous. The day was perfect.

Obviously not the ideal situation but you have nothing to worry about.  When we start our alterations 6-8 weeks out we assume that it this long process that needs ample time, when in reality it's just our seamstresses managing their time by adding a huge buffer (understandable, but also overkill).  I started my alterations 7 weeks out, my second fitting was 3 weeks later, third fitting 10 days later (Bear in mind that my seamstress forgot to complete a hefty number of alterations from my second fitting, but completed them 24 hours), final fitting 3 day after that. I just picked up my dress this past Saturday; 11 days before leaving There's nothing like a hard deadline to light the fire under their butts. It be different if you were just getting started and needed major alterations, but a 1/2"-1" isn't a deal breaker in the alterations world. Just think of all the last minutes bride who go though this process in 2 weeks, or who have to changes seamstress last minute... it all works out!

Thanks for this :) I know everything will work out in the end, hopefully! I am just so busy this last week and next (as you are as well I'm sure!) that its hard to fit in another fitting, it better be perfect! Otherwise I sense a bridezilla moment coming! Haha

No worries Kal520, I only just picked mine up and I leave for Sunday ...I didn' even go for my first fitting until last week LOL...I was losing weight and didn't want to til the last minute... my seamstress said the same thing as ChocoTaco...it's over kill but they put those weeks in for buffers. ...My seamstress did my alterations in 2 days, it's all good and it will be beautiful :) When I picked mine up this morn it was perfect!! fit like a glove! ..after only one fitting/alteration :)  Your all good ;)

I leave Sunday ladies...and I still haven't written the ceremony script, my speech,  picked my music, done seating tables/ or packed for my fiance and I. (kids are packed) ...freakin out a bit...tomorrow spa day all day and then all I have is Saturday and that's hair day...so really only 1/2 day to do everything!! LOL

Anyone have a sample ceremony script that has sand ceremony or kids as part of the ceremony?

Here is my script :)  It still needs a bit on tweaking, FI thinks it isn't funny enough, but holy crap, was this ever hard to do!!!

Oh my goodness, good luck with getting all that done! Maybe you can do some of it on the plane? I also suggest just assigning tables to people and not worrying about specific seats for everyone at this point. As long as everyone has a table, they can figure out where to sit.

I'll also post my playlists here shortly for you to get some inspiration. Are you doing iPod music or a DJ? For our dinner we're playing doo-wop to go with our vintage theme, and then our dance playlist goes from the 50s, to the 60s, a couple of 70s songs, then a whole bunch of bangers from the 80s

Congrats Court!!!!!!!! You look amazing!!! How did your trip go? Did you get that heavy downpour on Friday where you were? Did you do any excursions?

Everything went really really well!  It did rain on Friday from like 3:30pm - 8pm.  We were still able to have our scheduled bonfire at 9pm and light wish lanterns at 10pm so it all worked out.  We booked a private catamaran for our guests Friday from 10-1pm.  And, my husband, my brother, his girlfriend, and I went to Negril.  It was awesome!  I jumped from the cliff at Rick's!!   How was everything with you?   Did you do an excursions????

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
