Here's a fun question! What's everyone doing for their first dance song and father/daughter & mother/son dances?

We've decided on As Time Goes By by Dooley Wilson, the song from Casablanca which is one of our favourite movies. For the dance with our parents we'll use a Van Morrison song since we both grew up listening to him and have great memories of listening to his songs. We also saw him in concert for our one year anniversary at the Gorge in Washington which was amazing! Not sure what song yet, we're still deciding between a few.

We're still working on the rest of the songs too - what to play while everyone gets seated, the walk down the aisle song, ceremony music, dinner music and party time music. We're using our iPod so we're doing the music from the 5pm ceremony until 1am. We have a partial list put together but we need to sit down with a bottle of wine soon and sort out the rest. We have a mariachi for the cocktail hour so that's covered!

Not even my mom knows half the things I've been working on. Only the lovely ladies of BDS know all my secrets lol

I am however almost finished another DIY project. I was just gonna post all my projects on my planning thread as there are already multiple threads dedicated to most of my projects but I have yet to come across a thread for DIY wedding banners. So ill give my May brides to be a sneak peek of a DIY thread I might post soon.

This is actually on reversible banner! Just have to punch the holes and thread my purple ribbon through. I also have a second one that says just married and is reversible as well with the other side saying thank you. The banners pictured are for photo props as well as maybe ill put the love one on the cake table. The just married banner will be for our head table and thank you is a photo prop for our thank you cards we will have printed!

Daaaang girl!! Can I hire you to take care of all my DIY stuff?? Those are super cute!!!

HA I'm sorry I had a good chuckle over your "recently acquired ring bearer". Like he showed up at your door or you found him roadside with a sign that said "Will bear rings for a trip to Mexico". HA HA How does one go about "acquiring" such things?!?!

We're still trying to nail ours down but Spotify has been SOOOO awesome. It's like iTunes but you can build playlist out of any/every song you could ever think of without having to buy each individual song. They do a free month trial. You should give it a whirl!

Ok girls,

Now that we're all about to enter crunch time and freak out mode we have to make eachother a promise. We have to promise that we come back and update this thread with lots and lots of pics. Heck maybe even throw in a resort review. I can't believe we're here! This time last year I was wishing time would hurry up and now I'm kinda wishing it would slow down so I can get everything done!! Anyways, it's an absolute must you get back on after your DW and let the rest of us share in your wedding bliss!! EEEEKKKK so excited!

Best,

Melissa

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
