Ok thanks ladies. Funny, I don't know about never taking it off.LOL. But I do like the "close to your heart bit". Makes it very meaningful. That's really sweet.

Sounds pretty deep, but that`s what I was told. haha. I will be wearing my engagement ring on my right hand for the ring ceremony and then at the reception (or even during our champagne toast after the ceremony) I`ll be putting the eng ring on my left hand.

My engagement ring is going to fit in between 2 bands (that are connected), so I won't have mine on the day of our wedding.  It'll already be with the band... so he'll be putting the whole set on.  I think when we get home I'm going to have the band and ring permanently attached since I'll never be able to wear the band without the engagement ring.  (Just another reason for an anniversary band down the road!)

off topic, but does anyone know the norm for tipping? I am trying to figure it out to add it to our budget and I keep seeing different answers. For example hair and make up (they are coming to our hotel)? DJ? etc

Any feed back would be great.

            OK my May Brides-

I posted this in another thread but you ladies are always so helpful...

So i am asking for some help.

I ordered a dress from Wonderxue of Etsy for my Trash the Dress dress.

            I gave her these photos:

This was to be the top:

            This to be the bottom:

All organza with a white sash and white flower

I asked if it was possible to make it a slight mermaid a little fitted through the hips, after some back and forth i decided to NOT do the fitted as I was nervous her making it without a picture AND i thought it would be better to be flowy for my underwater photoshoot.

I just recieved her photos on the almost finished dress (Missing flower)

            Here they are:

As you can see it is defineately a MERMAID Style!!

Although i dont mind the dress at all- I am worried it will be too constricting for the underwater photo shoot?!

So do i ask her to fix it risking it what might happen to the quality or do i leave it as is?

            So torn...

And for those of you who are wondering the dress cost $220 USD

Suggestions on what to do as well as anyother changes alterations I may be missing would be greatly apprecated!

            Thanks all!

No such things as off topic in this thread... I don't think there are any rules or guidlelines for this which is why you will see different answers. My general rule of thumb is this - I tip those who provide a service that I don't directly pay for. If someone is an independent professional and sets his or her own rates/owns their establishment, I see no need to tip that person. However, I do plan on tipping my photog as he is handling the most important detail of my wedding.  While I believe him to be professional and great at his craft if a tip might inspire him to perform at 110% instead of 100%, then that's what I'll do. In addition to my photog, I will tip the WC at the resort, the decidated waitstaff for the cocktail hour and reception, hair/make-up stylist (if used), Mariachis, and of course rooms service and waistaff during our stay... hope this helps.

The dress is beautiful and seems to be really well constructed, but I understand your concern with the mermaid silhouette - this is why I'm also getting a 2nd dress for my TTD.  Honestly, I think the dress will photo wonderfully in a TTD session, but you will be more restricted in your movements and might be a bit limited in the poses you can achieve (assuming a cenote TTD).  But I'm not sure much can be done short of remaking the bottom into a fit and flare silhouette; I don't think there’s adequate material to let out at the princess seams. And if there is, you might see all the stitch work that would result in the fix, which wouldn't be flattering since there's no detail to act as a camouflage.  Unless she’s willing to remake the bottom, I would leave it as is and maybe see if there’s a credit she would be willing to offer.  Let us know how you proceed.

Re tipping, I agree...if you booked them on your own, they gave you a rate and to me that's the rate you pay. If however the hotel booked them for you, they are taking a fee and the amount you agreed upon is not the amount your band or vendor is getting. In that case I always say to tip. 20% seems like a good amount. But in truth, when you're thanking someone for great service they will probably be happy with whatever you give them and aren't really expecting anything anyways. When in doubt, tip as you'd do at home.

                    I WANT THIS RING!!! Lol...beautiful!!

So my ring is similar in style to yours. I feel like my hands are HUGE and that my e-ring band looks too dainty for my hands. Of course, i'm also just used to wearing huge costume jewellery that is over the top and the only person who'd have an e-ring like that would be Kim Kardashian and Beyonce.

One of my friends told me to do this but I never actually looked into it. Seeing it, I love it! But, at times I also may just want to wear my band so this could pose a problem for me. I play alot of sports and may injure myself or others if I were to wear this. Regardless...it's a beauty! I've just been inspired
