I can be a shipping station if needed, but I don't need lipbalm. I'm in Oregon 97124... just let me know.

Yup!  Barefoot, but I'm making these little ankle bracelets that loop over the second toe; "barefoot sandals."  :-)  I tried to post a picture, but I couldn't figure out how to do it :-(

So...tell me if I'm crazy and delusional from wedding planning but I don't think we can going to do welcome/OOT bags. Originally I thought obviously we have to do them it's what you are supposed to do! But the more I think about it and my fiance and I talk about it, it's just a bunch of crap no one is going to use or want and all the toiletry type stuff people bring with them anyways. No offense to anyone (well...everyone!) who is doing them I think they're cute especially the bags themselves, but maybe not for us. It will be waaay less stuff to drag down there, save money, time, effort, etc. Instead, I think maybe we will buy everyone a bottle of champagne or some sort of bigger useable gift to show our appreciation for them coming to Mexico for our wedding. What does everyone think about this? Good idea? Bad? Any other ideas of bigger gifts we can do per room?

Welcome!!! Honestly there are a TON of vendors on this website. If you post a thread they are really good about responding and so are the ladies on this site.

Although I am doing OOT bags I also agree with you. I'm not doing any of the mugs or key card holders or koozies. I did make barefoot sandals for all the ladies (which I think they will love) bottle openers and a small survival kit (aloe, Advil, hand sanitizer, lip balm, bandaids) I might do suduko or crossword books or a snack pack as I'm not staying at an AI resort and I think they might appreciate the late snacks. I also want to get a bottle of rum for each bag as well (once again not an AI resort so booze will go over well) I like the idea of a bigger gift. If you think the bags are cute why don't you do personalized bags to put the champagne in and then just a welcome booklet with itinerary and whatnot. Because I'm sure the champagne won't be coming home the tote bag could be th gift

I'm just jumping in now; I love it how everyone on this thread is going through the same thing at the same time!  LOL!  I am in the process of finishing up my DIY invitations and in the beginning stages of OOT bags.  I am also making bridesmaid foot jewelry, place cards, etc. :-)  Good luck!  This site is a life saver!!!

Just as an FYI to you since you're just starting your OOT bags is keep a look out on this site for threads from other brides who are selling off their leftover OOT stuff. Also, some of the best advice I've seen from a few brides on here was to wait on the OOT stuff until you have a pretty solid number or you'll end up going overboard. And lastly, I saw this on another brides OOT thread (sorry I cannot remember her name to save my life) but she is a bargin hunter like me and found this awesome website where you can get cheap cloth bags. Check it out. Good luck to you and congrats!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
