May 2013 Brides

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies! First of all, congrats to all of you! By now pretty much all of us have tied the knot, aside from a few brides who will be getting married over the next couple of days. I hope all of you had an amazing week with family and friends and your wedding day was everything you ever dreamed of!

Here are some photos from our wedding in Tulum a week ago. We did an engagement shoot the day before around town with our photographers, Luckygirl Photography from Winnipeg. They were able to give us some sneak peeks of the engagement shoot! Their website is www.luckygirl.ca and I have Ali from this forum to thank for posting about them. Flying them in was one of the best decisions we made. They shot us for 4 hours the day before the wedding and stuck around shooting for 14 hours on our wedding day. Talk about dedication to your work!

The wedding day photos we have right now were taken by our friends and family. The day was perfect and we couldn't have been happier with how it all turned out. Here's to happily ever after for all of us! :)

Hey Katy!!! Love your pics but I already saw them on Instagram of course. I can't wait to get mine back as well. I love Mairen (we didn't have Rachel but we did have robin, mairens brother and he was awesome) she was well worth the money and her dedication was amazing!!!! I feel we got more than we deserved lol of course the full day wedding coverage, she shot an excursion for us and the. We did a second day shoot which was in plain clothes in the morning like an e session and spent the afternoon and evening back in wedding attire driving around Jamaica it was insane! 9000 shots were take I believe, lol safe to say I think she will be out photographer for everything already thinking of a boudoir shoot for 1st anniversary

Hi ladies,

I just posted my planning thread!  Can't believe I'm actually sitting here saying that! I got really sick at the resort and I'm still somewhat recovering so I was finally just able to sit down and do this now.

Hello Ladies!! I have a question. Has anyone done the legal ceremony at the moon palace?! If so how did it go? I am having the legal ceremony and I am also having a hard time finding anyone who had a legal ceremony. It makes me a little nervous, that there is a reason why :( (I hope not) I am just curious to see if the legal ceremony is legit or not. If so..Should I change to the symbolic ceremony?

Happy to hear that you got so much photo time and had Robin as a second shooter! They said they shot a similar number for us, around 9000 photos. I guess the hard work for them now is narrowing it down to 900 for each of us! They are so dedicated and really love their jobs, I'm going to recommend them highly to anyone and everyone. A boudoir shoot as a 1st anniversary gift is a great idea!

Hi Ladies,

It's been a couple of weeks since I've posted any messages but I just wanted to touch base and say that the deed is done!! woot.gif

We were married last saturday and it was AWESOME! i can't wait to post all of the details and the photos with you.

For those of you with your wedding coming up let me say this... don't sweat the small stuff. I redid my seating chart 1000 times and i had cancellations the day of and additions up to the hour before. (Seriously, who does that??) But in the end, ppl will sit where they want to sit anywyas and they will make friends if they don't know someone and they will be up and about anyways. I was planning and setting up things the way I wanted them right up until an hour and half before my ceremony. Whoever said that things will go differently but not wrong on your wedding day was 100% correct. Nobody knows anything different and if they do, who cares. Enjoy your day and remember to live in the moment because once it's all done you can't do it again.

We got our photos back and my hubby took one look at them and said he wishes we could do the day again because he had such a blast. Looking forwad to getting the video now.

It has been wonderful planning with each of you and I think you guys saved me many times through my frustrations, your reminders, and your ideas. I'm still in Jamaica and loving every minute of it. For anyone having a Jamaica wedding, please don't hesitate to contact me with your questions or concerns. Your day will be blessed as each of you are :-)

JA2012, I couldn't agree with you more!! Congratulations dear!!!! It was wonderful planning with you and all the other May ladies! I had no idea but we were in Montego Bay at the same time you were there getting married!! lol, we were on our honeymoon at the Sandals Royal Caribbean :) What a completely awesome experience ....and seriously if I could go back now and not stress over the tiny small details so much then I probably would have taken in even more on that day. I remember waking up the morning after and looking at my hubby and saying...I so wish we had been guests at our wedding LOL... We both said we would love to wake up and do the day all over because it was PERFECT!!!... any honestly I can't even tell you about all those little details, all I know is that every one of our guests and by standers and the staff working our dinner/reception were loving every min of the wedding, and I had people emailing , talking and raving about how it was the most intimate wedding and the best wedding they had been too .....makes all the stress, drama, and pre-wedding crap all worth it int eh end. Once I got to that resort everything was "irie" as they say in Jamaica :) Absolutely the best time of my life.

Advice for any new Brides....don't sweat the small stuff, nothing is going to go exactly as planned but it WILL BE the most perfect day even with any differences. Step back and take it ALL in, because it really does fly by ....

Thanks to all the lovely ladies on this forum for sharing, supporting and understanding ....it was wonderful to have such great people to go through this experience with :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
