I am starting to watch the weather for punta cana and it's saying rain every day! I really hope it doesn't rein every day of our trip, especially the wedding day !
Honestly try not to obsess over the weather forecasts! It very well could rain everyday but for 20min at 7am for example. It usually only rains for a short period of time so I find the forecasts to look deceiving

Hello Ladies!

I have been MIA for a while but have been keeping up with you alls progress. Everytime I look I see 50+ posts! I have been busy with school, the wedding, and of course my little one, but I miss you guys:(

Anywho, we leave the states for Mexico in 7 days! I have some things left to do but I do have things "under control" lol. I can't believe I'll be married in 2 weeks! I can't wait to see everyone's pics when we get back! There have been some bumps in the road, but in the long run I know I'll look back and think that everything was perfect!

So I know there are 1-2 locals that frequent this thread, so I thought I would pick your brains. I am bringing my own photog, and we had planned on doing a cenote shoot for some underwater pics. BUT, she traveled this week and her underwater casing equipment was stolen from her checked baggage. Does anyone know of any Playa or surrounding area dive shop that rents housings or casings? Totally random question but I'm so sad I won't be getting my underwater pics:( she just can't afford to purchase a new housing for her camera before we leave.

Hey there! I'm one of the brides that lives here in Playa Del Carmen. I asked a friend in the dive industry and here's his answer: "If you can find out what model, I can find out. There isn't a place I know of that just stocks a variety of housings, but there may be someone in the area that has a compatible housing that may be interested in loaning/renting it out."

You could also possibly rent one for her at home before you go and have either her bring it down or possibly you, a friend or a family member. That could be more expensive but also an option! :) Private message me with the specs of her equipment and I'll see what I can find for you.

Don't pay attention to the weather forcasts! KristieT is right, if it rains in the Caribbean it is usually a monsoon for 20 minutes and then the sun comes out. I haven't seen rain here for at least three weeks but the weather report shows rain, clouds and thunderstorms  everyday.

I have a feeling the US and Canadian weather sources put bad reports out there on purpose. Honestly, I think it is because the US and Canada want people to vacation at home rather than spending their dollars in places like Mexico and the Dominican. There will be sun! msnparty.gif

I am in need of a creative name for a signature cocktail. (Vodka Lemonade)

My hubby to be veto'd using our names in it, so i was thinking something beachy or with sunset etc.

Any suggestions?

I've seen it called "High Altitude" before- kind of fitting for a destination wedding :)

I am glad to hear I am not the only one who has not written the ceremony or picked the music!  That is my project for this weekend!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
