LOVVEEEEE THIS!!

I am now wondering if I should put more in their bags.  I got them bikinis (Fig Leaves), flip flops (Havaianas - they're the BEST), necklaces (Etsy), and bags (Vistaprint).  Maybe I will pick them up magazines in the airport or lotion at Bath & Body Works.  BTW, I LOVE the robes.  I really wanted to do robes until one of my bridesmaids happened to get me and my maid of honor robes for the holidays.  I quickly had to change my plan and went with bikinis instead.

I also had my bachelorette party recently.  I decided to give my bridesmaids their wedding gift that weekend because I knew they would all be buying things as we got closer to the date and didn't want them getting these items.  They absolutely loved them and were so grateful.  I'm glad because they have done so much for me!

-Beach Bag (Indigo)

-Havaianas (Flip Flops)

-Lotion/Body Spray (Bath and Body Works)

-Lip Balm

-Personalized Luggage Tag (Michael's)

-Tumbler (Dollar Tree + Davet Designs Sticker)

-Nail File (Michael's)

-Sleep Mask (Michael's)

-Money/Room Key Holder (Ebay)

-Robe ... the colours are a bit off in the photo (Etsy)

Deep down I wish someone threw me one but it never happened sad.gif oh well I leave in just over 2 weeks!!!!! It's definately crunch time. My last day of work is next Saturday (yay!) and I only work two days this week so I'm beyond being distracted....

I only have on Best Maid of Honor, we don't even have a Best Man!  But, I'm still having a Bachelorette Party.  You should do it, ask you friends by you to just take you out one night this week and wear a silly veil.. then run around a bar or two telling everyone you meet that "you're tying the knot".    Or book a facial and massage apts for you and your girls, get your nails done.  That kind of thing.  Everyone deserves an "all about the bride" party.

I know that you ladies probably already set your date since it's next month, but the best day in May (other than what you already chose) would be Sunday May 26. A lot of venues give discounts either Fridays and Sundays. It's good for your guests because they have Monday to recoup. My sister got married on black Friday 2 years ago. She got a huge discount because it was on a Friday. She got 1 day off the day before to get last minute prep work done (Thursday Thanksgiving day). She got Saturday to party again. Then she got Sunday to recoup and go back to work on Monday!

Feeling pretty good with where I stand, but I also dropped a few projects. Quite frankly, my hours at work increased and I got tired of doing stuff. While there were a few details that may have been a nice touch, in the end I didnâ€t deem them necessary (ceremony programs, ribbon wands etc)

To do in no particular order in the next 4 weeks:

Purchase another bandeau bikini (need to avoid tan lines for the first 3 days)

Complete Reception playlist (songs chosen but not organized)

Complete mock-ups for WC use

Get E-Ring polished and photo ready

Purchase frames for all signage (picked out, just need to make the trip)

Figure out veil situation (maybe alterations)

Contact USPS to hold mail delivery for 2 weeks

Contact banks for out of country transactions

Order Bouquet charm

Items with hard dates:

04/20 Mail remaining Pre-Travel Packages (half were hand delivered to guest in Portland and Seattle)

04/20 2nd fitting and groom alterations

05/11 Hair Extensions Install

05/12 Complete all packing

05/12 Brazilian

05/14 Shellac Mani/Pedi and Fresh set of lash extensions

05/15 Depart for Mexico

On another note, my guestbook puzzle cam in today... very happy with it!

literally ditto almost your entire post! I saw you're doing the gel mani/pedi before you leave which I am planning on doing as well but was thinking of doing just the pedi before and getting my gel mani there. What do you think about this? I asked the salon if they have the gel and they said yes so I figured I would wait so it would be fresh/no growth but now I'm wondering if I will be stuck with no color options, etc.

Hey Kal,

I'm actually a bit of a Shellac snob...  Many use the term Shellac to generalize all gel nail polish systems, but Shellac is a specific brand by CND.  In my honest opinion it's the best gel polish brand and I've experimented with a few over the past 2 years. it has limited color options compared to its competitors, but the best pigmentation, protection, and healthiest option for natural nails in the long run.  Aside from this, gel polish is a bit harder to work with and not all nail techs apply it well, I've seen and heard of a few sub-par applications.  Finally I spent the months of January and February experimenting with wedding nail options and layering polish colors and know exactly what I want. I'm getting my nails done 5 days before the wedding and there will be minimal growth and since my nail color is neutral, I'm not too worried about it. Probably more of an opinion than what you were going for, but hopefully it helps you decide.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
