So who has had a "surprise" shower here?  Did they pull it off without you knowing???

I'm 99% sure that my family is doing one this weekend.  There have been so many little things that have tipped me off.  I'm just not sure whether it is today or tomorrow. Two sets of people have made plans with me on each day and I'm not sure which one is the one to get me there.  This is so awkward!!!!  Having to put on a "surprised" face ... and knowing what to wear!!!  hahaha!   I just don't know how I feel about these things!  I think the only way they work if you do it way in advance of the wedding, when it is completely off the bride's radar!

My mom and bridesmaids threw me a shower but it wasn't a surprise, just show how happy you are when you walk in and realize it is lol...I had a great time at my shower and really was happy they decided on hosting one for me! (even tho I hate being the centre of attention) Enjoy your day, it's a time to sit back and relax and let ppl celebrate you! :)have fun!!!

I haven't posted a pic yet but I will. I don't know why I have this idea that my dress has to be kept secret. LOL. Some of my colleagues are on here and are always scoping things out. The last thing I need is for them to tag me on FB or something. But wateva...I will post one soon. Or maybe after the wedding. Or maybe I'll just post with a threat to anyone who knows me. Hahahah! JK! Mine is lace also. I LOVE Lace. On the wedding shows they always say lace is old school but I think that's what I love about it. And I always think they look amazing in it. It's romantic and soft and girly. Hmmm...all the things I am not. But it's one day of my life where I can transform myself and channel my inner Beyonce so I'm going BIG!! :-) Anyhow, I'll say it again...You look amazing in that dress!
Hahaha -- that was me after my fitting on Tuesday! I pretty much threatened all my bridesmaids!! Nobody was allowed to forward or post or show anyone the pics of me in my dress lol. I will post a pic shortly...it was such a relief that the dress fit!!! (i had ordered it 2 sizes smaller then I was lol) Big relief!!!

How fun! I had one on March 9th. I always knew it was coming! They told me that morning at breakfast to be ready in 2 1/2 hours because it was my shower day! It was sooo much fun, I am still smiling about it. They also blind folded me so I wouldn't know where they were taking me! It was awesome. The ended up renting my fave Mexican Rest and had a fiesta. It got everyone so  excited for Mexico it was perfect. Let us know how it goes next week!!!

Okay final alterations opinion please... I always wanted a sweet heart neckline, and it's the only characteristic of my wedding dress list of requirement that my dress doesn't meet. However, I love the scalloped lace edge detailing on my dresses original design.  I've been contemplating altering the neckline to a sweetheart and in a perfect world I would keep the scalloped detailing, but this is an unlikely option.  So what to ...keep the neckline as is or sacrafice the scalloped lace and get a sweetheart?

Personally I love the scalloped detail, it's very romantic.

I love the sweetheart and I did the same thing ---ordered my dress with a similar neckline as yours because the seamstress said she could make it into sweetheart no problem. I would see if you could have best of both worlds but personally my thought is if you were set on the sweetheart you don`t want to regret not having it. I am debating the same right now....I will post a pic of my first trial to show you the neckline, and what your thoughts are on making it into a sweetheart.  Both will be beautiful on you regardless though--you can`t go wrong :)

Ok ladies here is my dress...still deciding on if I should do a sweetheart neckline or not...thoughts. I originally like ChocoTaco really wanted a dress with sweetheart and the seamstress told me we could make it into sweetheart if I wanted..I have some pretty big `girls`lol, so I`m a little afraid that if I make it sweetheart that I will be showing too much cleavage....LOL (I normally dont mind that but hesitate for my wedding)

P.s. This was totally not the dress I was going for ...this was my last dress at the last bridal gown place on my 2nd outing, and I was after more princess style. I didn`t even think to try on fitted dress with my body type but it honestly ended up being way more flattering then the A-line and princess style was..also the sash-belt is going to be sewen into the dress so there won`t be any tie or bow in the back :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
