Some of our guests have paid in full so we decided rather than "paying them off" to get out of the trip that'll we do a group pre-wedding trip and just not get married down there. The guests with deposits down will get everything but $45 back. We are still trying to take in all this luck!!!

Congrats, that's so exciting! Can't wait to see how your dream wedding turns out for you!

Ahh this has totally been one of the hardest things for us to decide. some of the songs that we have been contemplating so far (but have no idea where yet) are....

Your Song - elton john

harvest moon - neil young

crazy love - van morrison

whistle for the choir - the fratellis

offering - the avett brothers

forever young - either bob dylan or the band version (this would obviously be father/daughter mother/son dance)

thousand years - christina perri ( i hate twilight but love this song so its been a love/hate relationship lol )

unchained melody - probably willie nelson version

indian summer - the doors

Those are all great choices! One thing that helped us was sitting down and listening to all of the songs we were considering. As Time Goes By made us want to stand up and dance together, which we did! It was just a gut feeling. Hopefully one of those songs does that for you two.

I was thinking about this too...our parents are not hosting the wedding,  or paying, so I am not sure this tradition would apply to us?

Good question! My FI bought personalized cuff links for our dads and I'm in charge of the moms. I think earrings for mine, and a pandora charm for his. We also might take care of an excursion for them, but that's all depending on budget, so we'll know closer to then....so hard!!

I went back and forth on this one. I wanted to do something out of the norm. My parents are paying for the entire wedding so I wanted to do something tailored to them. I purchased them a romance package weekend stay (champagne, chocolate covered strawberries, dinner, breakfast, etc) at a lake resort/spa that's about two hours from their house. They're actually going this weekend. When I told them that this was my gift to them to say 'thanks for giving me the wedding of my dreams' they both were happily surprised. I'm also going to write individual letters and put them inside greeting cards and give them to my mom and dad on the actual wedding day. :)

Both of Mark's parents and my dad are deceased so for parents it will just be my mom at our wedding. This is what we decided to get for her. Most of the text will be the same but I change it just a bit:

Today a bride,

tomorrow a wife,

forever your daughter

best friends for life.

We're going to put a pic of me when I was little in the horizontal frame and one of our engagement pics in the vertical frame and give it to her at the Rehearsal Dinner the night before the wedding. Then after the wedding we'll give her one of the wedding photos.

I love the frame! Where did you get it if you don't mind me asking?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
