This is what I am thinking:

6:30-10:30pm reception

6:30 pm Entrance of bridal party and bride & groom

Immediately following do the first dance and maybe also do the mom/groom & brother/bride dances

Appetizers

During appetizers do speeches

Dinner

Dance a bit

Then cut the cake

Dance

10pm Light sky lanterns

We aren't doing the bouquet toss or garter, for sake of time, we cut that out, and it just wasn't important for me to have it.

I spent a little more than I originially wanted on my girls (4) bouquets and so we are using them for some of the centerpieces.  I'm doing  30" tall centerpieces and then the florist is going to use the maids bouquest for "short" centerpieces to offset the tables a bit.  I wasn't about to spend $600 on bouquets and then just toss them aside!  I was already way over my flower budget choosing tall centerpieces. She is putting a palm leaf in the vase so it hides the stems.  Similar to the idea below, but in a taller vase (and not those flowers, obviously!). We will have 8 tables total.

No I don't believe you can take them with you.  Unless of course you press a couple to save in your suitcase.

Hi Heather1214, I am just wondering who you went with your flowers, is it a Montego Bay florist? I am going to be way over my flower budget also ...and was also planning on using my girls bouqets as centrepieces --to avoid the extra expense. I have 6 Bridesmaids  so that will cover all 6 tables and mine for the head table .

You?

We are doing lazy river for ceremony, cocktail hour at blue moon music bar (Our colors are a magenta and navy, so I thought the room would flow well, plus there is a veranda outside the bar), and reception at Calabash.

I'm getting so antsy!  I cannot wait to get there!

I didn't have a good experience with TaiFlora, the communication was well... there wasn't any haha.  I feel that if I'm spending a great deal of money at a business, (our flower budget was $2,000-$2,500) waiting over a month is entirely to long for a response.  No matter how busy they are.  I have learned patience from this process, but I e-mailed them back in August/September and STILL no response!  I laugh because it's just crazy!

We went with Floral Fantasies.  Their pricing is much better from what I've been seeing from TaiFlora comments on here.  I'm working with Chantal specifically.  They do charge a delivery fee, and as long as they aren't "staying" all day, they don't charge a vendor fee for them. (Get that in writing yourself though from the WC, to be safe!)

I sent her pictures and she offered suggestions and has sent multiple pictures of different vase options.  We are also renting chairs from them b/c I hate the chair covers that are offered.  We are paying for the girls bouquets and I think it was a $10 rental for the vase for the reception.

My experience so far with flowers has been the easiest of all the planning!  I just pray the flowers are as nice as she promises they will be!

i didn't use them but I do feel I've been in touch with EVERY florist in JA at this point. LOL. I found a Montego Bay florist for myself. Since your wedding is in Ocho Rios you should go with one in that neck of the woods or you'll get charged more for delivery.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
