It is probably high time I made one of these lists!  I'm sure it's missing tons of stuff, but for now...

Done:

Passports - super easy, already had them! wink.gif

Save the Dates - DIY luggage tag magnets

                      http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/79805/my-diy-save-the-dates-luggage-tag-magnet-design

Flights booked (red-eye, hope we don't regret it!)

Transportation from airport to PDC decided on (public bus, so much info on the web!)

Accommodations booked for half the trip (May 2, 3, & 4, our wedding night)

Photographer booked (Jonathon from del Sol, the absolute most exciting thing about our wedding, aside from the marriage itself!)

Wedding planner selected (Leanne Marie, so happy to have her!)

Partially done:

Amy's ring - ordered online and received it yesterday, but it's too big, so we're exchanging the size

My ring - I've chosen what I want, but waiting to order till I have a better idea on size (currently slimming up)

My dress - chosen, but again, waiting to order till I have a better idea on size (8 weeks order time, so I'll order 12 weeks out)

Bridesmaids dresses - 1 out of 5 ordered, 2 out of 5 selected but not ordered yet, 2 out of 5 not chosen yet (all different styles, obviously)

Bridesman's attire - Amy has a guy friend in the wedding, so his shirt will match the bridesmaids' dresses (he can find white pants on his own)

Invitations - DIY message in a bottle, with a passport booklet of pre-travel info (currently working on them, long way to go)

To be done:

Accommodations for the second half of the trip (only able to stay 2 more days after the wedding, but want a change of scenery)

Amy's dress - aside from browsing dresses over a year ago, she has made no progress on this (hates shopping, hates trying on clothes)

Live music - possibly having a Spanish guitar player & hoping to have a bridesmaid sing in the wedding; looking to combine these two things

Music - ipod reception decided on, but more to go on this (need to book system and speakers & decide on music)

Flowers - have talked to a vendor, but mostly undecided right now (I'm picky and cheap, not the best combo)

Make-up/hair arrangements - very unsure of this right now... want to bring in a pro, but don't think we can afford it sad.gif (I have chosen a hairstyle, at least)

Ceremony decor - have lots of ideas, working with the wedding planner to execute them, but need to shop for many things

Reception decor - a few ideas, but a long way off from feeling confident about this; lots of decisions to make & shopping to do!

Transportation to/from ceremony and reception - wedding planner is helping with this, I think (need to check)

OOT bags - not planning to go crazy with these, but want to make sure everyone has sunscreen, aloe, and meds

Dog sitter - one of our dogs can be difficult, so trial run(s) not optional; need to get on this!

What else am I forgetting?  I should have another look through this thread to see what else there is.  Don't want to suddenly remember something too late!

WOW! You make me feel super under prepared. I better start buckeling down now that we're all at the 6 month mark. Weeelllll, I wanted to let you know about The Wedding Suite at Nordstom. I noticed that your FI Amy isn't a fan of any dresses or trying endless amounts of clothes on. I can't blame her! Especially the stress of finding something perfect for your wedding!!! Anways, this is where I got my dress and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I tried dresses on at all the bridal barns and boutiques and nothing came close to the service and fun I had at the Wedding Suite! First of all it's Nordstrom so you knooow their service is impeccible. Secondly, I was able to find my dress UNDER budget, in fact I got my dress for $400 with tax!!! The stylist never made me feel like I was less important because I wasn't buying a $10,000 Vera Wang. She always had good input and even helped me bling my dress up a bit. The best part is becuase it's The Wedding Suite is literally right in the middle of the store they handle appointments for all the attendants and family. You could set up an appt for Amy and talk with a stylist about what her idea is and what the budget is and they'll pull the looks for her. Sure beats having to comb through racks and racks of clothes and dresses.  I don't know if they have one close to you but it's worth a shot if she's super picky! Good luck to you and Amy!

Are you doing OOT bags for every individual guest or just per room? We estimate about 50 guests and it seems so expensive to do that many and deal with customs at the same time... There is a Walmart and Costco in Cancun about 15 min from my resort. I was planning on taking my chances and doing bags upon arrival!

GULP! I forgot about half of these things. I think I am going to print your list and customize it for myself. LOL! So many things to be done. I'm beginning to sweat at the thought of it. Clearly I need to subscribe to this thread for updates and reminders.

Just curious what the proper protocol for dealing with guest list is....

I have a max capacity of 100 at my venue. I really only want about 80 to attend. Between my family and FI family we will easily reach that number. I don't want to exclude anyone from invites so out of respect I'm sending to everyone. BUT...what happens if everyone replies, everyone brings a guest and everyone attends?? I'm screwed!!

How did others handle this? I've heard about doing A and B lists but as I've only got 5months left and am just now sending out the invites that can't really happen. HELP! Any suggestions?? I'm way over my head. all i can do at this point is LOL!

I'm doing OOT bags as one per couple and one for singles. We expect about 34 guests so so far I've been working on 21 bags. For the couple bags ill just be doubling up on a few items like Chapstick. I don't think it's nessesary that couples or families get multiple bags with all the same contents. I might also do separate bags for the 4 kids we have though.

I need HELP!!! i need to know where to start with my passport invites, and get them out ASAP!  I am in panic mode..... Who knows how to do these?
I have no idea how to do these so I just did pocket told invites. But definitely search the forums as lots of brides have turned out amazing passport invites. But of all the ones I've seen they definitely spent a lot of time on them. The forums might have templates but also look for ayleebits template I know the ayleebits website has both a free template as well as a $10 template. Good luck!

I don't know what your specific needs are, but I've helped both ANGELA2013 and MsBubbles (no longer active memebers) with their templates and designs: http://www.bestdestinationwedding.com/t/81439/missbubbles-britney-diy-passport-invitations-sample-print

I'm more than happy to help if I can. And I  know Britney was interested in doing some invitation work on the side, so she may be a good resource dependent on what your needs are. Or try to find other brides on BDW who have done passport invites that you like and ask them directly for tips/help. Good Luck.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
