Quote: Where can I go to find up-dated legal requirements?
Hey Tova, I'm not sure. A bride on the Excellence Playa Mujeres thread got married in May and it changed right before her wedding. She emailed me after her wedding to let me know how easy the process is now after just having gone through it. I emailed my wedding coordinator and she confirmed that the laws in Quintana Roo had changed and all we needed were the blood tests, passports and tourist cards. That sealed the deal for us. Mark is divorced so we were looking at having to get his divorce decree transcribed as well as our birth certificates, etc.

Hmmm... I might have to look into this.  I wonder if the ceremony still has be delivered in spanish with a translator present. Do you know?
Sorry I'm not sure about that but it seems like she did say that's still how it was. Not sure if it HAS to be though. I'll have to ask about that myself.

Yeah. holidays and invites can be a bit tricky.  I know there are other May 2013 brides in the same predicament, so hopefully they will chime in. Our RSVP date is Feb 16, which I think is fare and it gives me enough to finalize anything that is dependent on our guest count.  The way we see it, if you havenâ€t committed to a destination wedding 3 months out, then you probably have no intension of going.  Even in saying that, we know that 1 or 2 of our guests wonâ€t be able to commit until 6-8 weeks out, but they are the only exceptions to that statement. This date is also 2 weeks prior to when we need to cancel any un-reserved rooms on our block without penalty.

Same here; we pretty much know who is coming, with just a couple exceptions. That's one reason I haven't worried too much over the invitation issue.

We're doing message in the bottle invites, and I just received my bottles yesterday.  Super excited to get to work on them!

Got a couple more of the design pieces finished...what do you think? Would love some feedback...anything you think needing to be changed?

(There are some times I can't confirm yet which is why they've been left out.)

Also, Tova I love the pic of you and Justin!!! You look awesome together!

Hey Lynn,

Thanks for compliment on the pic!

I love the door hanger and wedding event schedule .  Just for clarification, is the wedding weekend event a separate item or is it the back of the door hanger? A couple things that stand out to me - maybe consider bumping down the text a few lines on the hanger to fill out the white space better.  The text seems to start too high and a little space between the sky image and 'Do Not Disturb' may look better.  On the wedding weekend event, the font and color used for ‘Wedding Day†seems a bit random and doesnâ€t fit with the rest of the design and I think the black text is a bit stark. With that said, Iâ€m wondering if you can introduce a darker font color as an accent (deep eggplant) and incorporate it into your design… maybe us it for the day/date headings as well? Maybe use this darker color in place of the color used for ‘wedding weekend events†and ‘Iâ€ve been Partying…†so that thereâ€s a bit more of a contrast?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
