The girl that posted the pic I had put up said to just get white petals and die them with Rite dye in your color. The bottom looks pretty labor intensive...guess you should call up the 'maids and put them to work wink.gif

I agree.. They shouldn't be able to charge you for your family or friends putting up the decor.. I need to inquire with my WC to seek the fee's for them putting up my decor vs. a friend.

call up the maids.. tehehehe  I never thought of that.. Great idea!! I think the dying will be much easier than painting with acrylic paint as I previously read.  But def check out ebay too.. Great deals and many, many colors to choose from! ;o)

You could always just play dumb and ask a family friend to do it and if they try to charge just say you didn't know and that wasn't exlplained to you. I mean something as simple as  homemade aisle runners should not be charge to have a family member put them out.

And I totally agree!.. I mean after all, we are sending them a ton of business and money by choosing their resort and having our family and friends stay several nights each.

I think that it is crazy that they would charge you for putting up some decor you brought! I say this but have not asked that question to my own resort haha. But if they did charge a fee for putting them up, I would say that it would still be less than if you had custom order it through them. Now that can get expensive! Andy and I are trying to stay financially conservative and that is taxing when corresponding with the planner on options to save money here and there. I wish I could just say this is exactly what I want, I will bring no decor and just send me the invoice haha! Sigh....in a perfect world haha.

Gosh that would be amazing. "Just charge it to my black AMEX" and I'll review the bill later. I'm pretty sure if that were the case we would be getting married in Fiji and flying our fam and friends out. But alas we are just poor people and will be dyi a lot of my own decor and having friends help me put it up.

So I know I could put this in the AHR thread but I wanted to see if and when my May 2013 girls were going to do their AHR? If you guys are doing an AHR when are you and what kind of AHR are you going to do? Will it be like a 2nd wedding reception or just a cocktails and apps kinda thing? We have 3 venues in mind for our AHR with 3 total different vibes to them. Let me know....

We are thinking of doing ours between June and July.. But found out from our photog that we wont have our pictures back until July 4th.. So maybe we will plan something for the end of July. On a Saturday of course since my family lives in Alabama and the reception will be in Georgia. I def want to have dancing and music. I've got to check out venues in the Atlanta area since I'm not too familiar with it. But I want to do a hotel events room or something of that nature. And I want wine, beer and cokes and appitizers, candy bar and another wedding cake.

We are doing our AHR two weeks after we arrive home from the DR. I have to be really good about getting everything organized beforehand, so that when we come back I dont end up having a ton of things to worry about.

We are doing a full on reception. We found a banquet hall and we are gonna have a sit down dinner, open bar, a dj, the whole deal.

So basically I am planning two weddings - but I figure this is a once in a lifetime thing - so gotta do it up big!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
