Congratulations on your wedding anniversary and how cool that you decided to come to Mexico to celebrate. Mexico has been in the press lately with the drug wars but this is concentrated in 7 states of which are all inland and on the border. On behalf of tourist destination business owners I would like to thank you for your support by visiting Mexican beaches.

Gracias amiga y felicidades!

Jimmy

Anyway, is anyone worried about the weather in the Caribbean in May, specifically Punta Cana? Of course its a rainey month and the weather is something I cant control but has anyone visited during this month?

woot.gifIâ€m so happy for us BDW May 18th Brides - Bride81, TauruSmith, Angela2013, Eyeball17, (definitely missing a 5/18 Bride in this line up) and now you!  Officially 1 year and counting. Iâ€m definitely not worried about the weather as I have been to the RM twice, once late April the other time mid-May.  And the forecast called for lightning and thunderstorms almost every day of both our vacations but we never saw one drop of rain, and only one morning with a cloudy sky.  Many Locals told us that they never pay attention to the weather until later in the summer because it's always wrong. Hopefully the weather trends similarly in Punta Cana.

i love how on top of this thread everyone is.

has anyone started looking at bridesmaid dresses? we were at brooks brother the other day and was told that everything in the store was ALL they were getting for summer.  it made me nervouse since i want coral/orange bridesmaids dresses.  i am not big into "typical" bridesmaids dresses for a beach wedding and would prefer nice sundresses... i also want all my bridesmaids in different dresses but i've had terrible luck finding anything!  i did order a cute dress from anthropologie but thats it!  and i feel like i'v searched everywhere - jcrew, modcloth, anthro, bloomies, macys, nordstrom, lilly, asos, ann taylor, banana, etc.

just wondering if any of you have had better luck???

Hey Allie,

It sucks that you're having such a hard time with your dress search.  I found my BM dress on dillards.com.  Have you used shopstyle.com to look for dresses by color?  When I typed in coral dress it returned 138 options, and 142 when searching for orange.  Aside from the stores you already listed, I can't think of anything else at the moment.  If I come across something I'll be sure to let you know.

[/quote Try searching on Pinterest. An pictures you find should take you to some websites. Try Aritzia! They had some coral last time I checked. Do you have menodocino and H&M? Try those if you want less formal. Even check American Eagle. They always have lots of sun dresses and can really be dressed up nicely!!

maybe i just don't understand pinterest???  i always see people post cute dresses but the websites always link me to a blog with no mention of where the dress is from!  i did find some lilly (pulitzer) dresses that might work, i ordered a bunch of them today so fingers crossed!

thanks for the help!

We're going to look at bridesmaid dresses in two weeks when I finally have all of my girls together (they're scattered across the country). But we're just going to check out what styles they like. I will most likely have to just give them a colour swatch and tell them to find a dress in that colour, since they'll be going back to their cities after that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
