You definitely will not regret your decision.  The GC Beach Club is in Playa but not centrally located in town like many of the hotels and resort that are 1-2 block off 5th ave.  If I recall correctly, it was approximately a 10 min cab ride or less to get to the GC beach Club from 5th Ave. which is why it makes for a great private wedding venue.   I didnâ€t think it was hard to get to, and our cabby knew exactly where we wanted to go.  Do you know how long it will take to get from Soliman Bay to Playa? Fantastic choice on villas by the way! I totally wanted to rent Hacienda Caracol.  I think youâ€re planning the wedding that my Fi and I initially wanted until we realized that it would mean going into debt, and we knew it was outside of our guests budgets too… I mourned this wedding plan for 6 weeks and almost pulled out the credit cards but the Fi and I agreed to pay for everything in cash, we don't want to start our union in debt.

Great job on your wedding website too… your quote is in the movie When Harry Met Sally, thatâ€s where I know it from anyway.  I used it in a toast at my friendâ€s wedding.

Great sites everyone!

Shay, I love RIU .... good choice.  I've been to a few now and I've always enjoyed myself :)  I also think that destination weddings are all about being flexible and coming up with original ideas and going against the norm!  Clam idea is cute!

I'm glad to hear that everyone liked my idea, I was looking online and OF COURSE they have someone who makes them on Etsy. Here's what they look like

They are adorable! These are for the maid of honor and the best man to carry, I like that idea. So I emailed the seller asking about the ribbon color availability.

Thank you, I love their resorts as well. We decided to go with them because we have stayed at many Riu's just not in Playa del Carmen.

MissBubbles205, couldn't help but notice your fiance is from the same city I grew up & went to school in.  Small world!

I'm sending save-the-date magnets out this week (meant to get them out sooner, but I designed & redesigned so many times, they were delayed).  We've been giving them out in person to local friends, but several have to be mailed.  We did cards with luggage tag magnets inside.  The feedback on them has been wonderful!  Can't wait to show them off here!  (I'm on a macbook & have no clue how to work anything on it.  Will post pictures from my desktop soon.)

Oh wow, how awesome is that!.. Do you happen to know him?

I want to do magnets as well!  Did you have yours made or did you DIY them? I can't wait to see your STD pics!!.. Make sure to post the link here when you get them uploaded.. :o)  I'm in need of inspiration!

I'm working on mine this week, we want to get ours out at our 1 year mark as well which is approaching fast. I want magnets, but with the prices and our long list of people to send to, I was thinking about printing them on cardstock and attaching a magnet to the back of each. (Going to HL today after work to search for huge strips of magnets that are cutable. :o)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
