Kristi,

When you went did you happen to look at the rooms at the Grand as well as the suites?  My grandma is coming and her main concern is how comfy the beds are.  She is thinking of upgrading to the Grand just for herself but has also heard they have the same beds in both resorts.  And Iberostar isn't really telling us much.  She won't be using any of their restuarants or anything because she will want to be with all of us, so her main reason will be simply for the rooms & their beds. She wants to know if it will be worth it.

Hi Kristi,

Did you happen to tour the beach resort also? My FI are staying at the Suites but have 50% staying at the beach. I'm thinking of the front bar for the welcome party than a bonfire but I'm now wondering if everyone can use the Piano bar?

Thanks

Hey! I did not get an official tour of the beach BUT we did use the pool at the beach one day and ate at some of the restaurants there as well. I do not know whether or not the piano bar is open to guests at the beach but if not there MAY be a piano bar at the beach! Also I am pretty sure the bonfire includes open bar for a certain amount of guests so you may not need to use the front bar/piano bar for your welcome party if you really want to do the bonfire! We saw a bonfire welcome party at the beach when we were there and it looked like a blast!

Hey! We did tour the rooms at the Grand and they are AMAZING! As far as the actual beds go I am not sure if they are different (our room at the suites had a king bed and the room we toured at the grand had 2 queen beds) however the linens at the grand are much nicer and more luxurious and they provide you with a pillow menu so that you can pick your perfect pillow. I don't know if that helps or not!

We did not do an official tour of the beach resort but we did go over there for some meals and hung out at the pool once which was nice... I never saw any of the rooms or anything like that but we liked the resort itself. We did not get one comp/discount or anything like that, it seems like they get so much business that they really don't care if you book there or not because if you don't someone else would... which was a little frustrating... we kinda were expecting some sort of special treatment or a nice gesture but never got one.. which was fine lol... hope that helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
