Traveling with a wedding dress

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone! I am getting married on June 12, 2012 at Sandal's Grande Antigua.  I was wondering if anyone has tips on traveling with a wedding dress?  I really don't want to check my dress and leave it to the mercy of the airline lol.  I was hoping that there is somewhere on the plane that I could hang my dress and take it on and off with me.  Also, we have to have our photography and wedding stuff paid for in the next couple of weeks.  We haven't figured out which photography package to use because we are already spending so much and their photo packages are very pricey.  Is it better to just do something like the al a carte option of 18 5x7 or to get an actual photo package?  Do the photographers make it worth the money you spend to get a photo package?  Right now we are getting married on the beach because I've always dreamed of getting married on the beach.  I would hate to have to switch locations because they don't have a private beach for their guests.  Has anyone gotten married on the beach there recently, or even last June around 4 PM? Was the beach overly crowded?  Is it worth getting married on the beach?  Is it hard to switch locations once you get there, in case we decided to move the wedding?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated!!!

Thank you,

Brittany

Brittany, Congratulations!!

We are getting married there a week from today. We are also planning on doing the beach but at 9am. Ebony is our WC and has been great! She said that we can change easily once we get there. Also we decided to not choose a package until we have seen the pictures. And today last minute I decided to go for the video and she added it on with no problem! I bought my wedding gown in Ohio and brought it to Texas with me on the plane with no problems as well, I think it may have been stashed in a overhead bin, but it was fine. I will let you know how it goes once we get back. Let me know if you have any other questions! I am so excited!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
