I have been stalking this site since before I got engagged and still feel very behind I've been readign resort reviews and trying to narrow them down before I go see a TA. But there is a lot of information and I am glad I found this site to help see what other brides are doing it make the stress feel a little less!!!

I just started getting serious about planning for our April wedding too! I thought I was getting started right on track or even a bit early, but then some of the other women on here are planning for the same time frame and have so much done already. Now I feel behind, lol! Good luck with all decisions ahead!

It takes a LOT more research to plan a destination wedding!

I too would suggest working with a TA if you don't already have one. Just make sure they specialize in destination weddings!!! Trust me, it will save you a lot of time and effort in the end!!!

We have the same wedding date! thewave.gif

Hi Brooke! Congratulations!! I got married in Mexico this past March. We chose the Riviera Maya section (south of Cancun) because of all the violence on the western side of the country (where Acapulco /Cabo are located). It was extremely convenient to the airport in Cancu and such. I couldn't have asked for a nicer setting or group of people. Also in the Yucutan Pennisula is Playa Del Carmen - which I hear is AMAZING as well. I started planning about a year out too. I don't know what your goals are, but ours were affordability, preferrably all inclusive, and convenient to sights/airport. The best thing I did in all of this was take the recommendation of a friend and contact destinationweddings.com. They are essentially a TA, but the experience they had really helped make things much smoother. I didn't have to do anything but provide the TA my requirements and she helped find a place. I also think I got a lot of perks out of using them then I would have on my own. They also made sure the coordinator at the resort met my needs and they took care of all our transportation to/from the airport. I think I would have lost my mind if I hadn't used them. Just a suggestion. I hope your wedding in Mexico is lovely. Best of Luck.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
