We fell in love with the postcard idea, and we love old maps we wanted to give it a vintage feel. So we had our friend wip up something based on what we saw online.

We had it printed from http://www.morningprint.com/ on some really nice textured paper, total with shipping for 200 was $70.  I haven't received them yet but I will post pics after my addressing party I'm having on Friday night.

We also decided to do a pre-rsvp. We are inviting alot of people who we know cannot come, so we are only sending expensive invites to those who RSVP - plus the elders and other important people. We are also thinking of sending out a lighter less detailed invited to the people who RSVP no or maybe, just to be curitous. What do you think? we are at the 7 month mark and I'm starting to freak out!

I LOVE these!!  Can't wait to see the pics when you get them!

Pre-RSVP is a great idea! I'm hoping to make our Invites to save us a ton of money, otherwise I'd probably do the same thing since invites are soo expensive.

Are you purchasing your invites or are you making your own?

If you have time, I think it would be cute to order (for a good price) or to DIY something quick and simple to the people you want to have a formal invite even though they wont be able to make i. (A keepsake possibly) I have wedding invites all over my fridge from friends and family. lol.. :o)

I'm trying to figure out how to design a passport invite and send out only the outside flap to people who RSVP'd no or maybe... so that I'm only sending the detailed info to the people who I know are going and need the info. But anyone can still get the travel info by going online too.

Im having my designer friend design the passport and then use a pro printer and put and put together myself, so I guess you could call it semi DIY.

hmm... If its the normal passports.. (I think I'm going to use Aylee's template, spelling?, I bought her's today. Just waiting for the email before I obsess over them.. lol)  What about sending them the first 3 pages? Passport cover, picture and info (2nd page), and the formal invite portion (3rd page?) So you'll really just have 1 page folded in half, and printed on front and back. I hope that made sense.. lol Just a thought though.

Well that sounds likea DIY to me. :o)  Can't wait to see those!!

Thats a great idea! That is pretty much what I was thinking anyhow. I feel like everyone has done the passports- but they are soo cute! I'm trying to think of a new twist on them to make them my own.

I saw a passport cover that had been embosed in a thin canvas for the cover.... http://pinterest.com/pin/270427152594897468/ or printing on berlap http://pinterest.com/pin/243264817341706896/

I agree, a lot of people on this site seem to use the passports.. But none of my family and friends have ever used them or seen them. :o)

I'm at home.. So I got to open the link. YAY..   I have never seen anything like these two... They are super cute!!  I wonder where you would find that paper and how in the world you could print on burlap!

I'm ordering my paper today from paper and more. :o) I think we are going to go with White Pearl invites with pink envelopes. And I'm also buying the pink cardstock so I can layer it with the white and make "will you be my bridesmaid cards."

Sooo true Miss Bubbles! Most people havent seen the passports. my BFF had airline tickets for her bridal shower invites, so those are off the table. I'm still thinking of doing a RSVP postcard and may use the ticket idea there, but I'm not sure.

Soo glad you can open the links (I guess you caught this early enough) as you can see I'm sooo close to 150 posts... I'm hoping to reach that today. I havent gotten much work done in the last few days -LOL

I love the idea of the pearl paper. Did you get a good deal? I'm not the peal type of girl or I would totally jump on them!

RSVP tickets would be soo cute!!.. I want to do a small post card that will fit in the envelope with my passports. that way I don't have to buy envelopes just for those. :o) <-- I guess I gotta make those super cute since they will be exposed to the mail people.. lol..

I watch this site like a hawk!  morning, all day, night.. I'm sooo addicted.. lol..   I see you got your 150 posts!! YAY!!!!

I got white pearl and pink azela cardstock and 50 metallic azela pink envelopes for less than $80. This should cover all of my paper projects and them some. :o)

OMG!!! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these!!!!  I really wanted to do save the dates with our pictures but we haven't had our engagement pictures done yet. :o( I guess I'll have to do date reminders 6 months before since I want to send my invites 12 months before.

Too bad we don't live close by.. I would have rounded your corners for FREE!!.. haha.. I bought a corner rounder from Hobby Lobby and I wasn't in the car for 5 mins before I was rounding the corners on every piece of paper in site.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
