How are ppl booking their wedding for 2013 if prices aren't out yet?! :$

Recommended Posts

We booked our wedding date at our resort about a year in advance.  At that time we didn't know the prices or schedules for flights.  We sent out our STDs, but waiting to send out anything else until we had the exact pricing to make sure it was still affordable for our guests.  We received the pricing in June and decided to go ahead with it.  I would say book a date with the resort and just inform them that the pricing from your TA is not available.  They are usually pretty understanding of this.

Hi finleya,

Quick question... Did your TA give you a group rate for just hotel?  My TA (who works with destination weddings) keeps trying to get me to put a deposit down on a package price for $1675 which is crazy.  I'm telling my guests to book each piece separately because it ends up a few hundred cheaper that way.  No one has booked anything but I'd like to at least secure hotel rooms (seems like a lot of April weddings at ROR).  Can you shed some light on the contract you signed... how many rooms... did you get a better rate than the current $108 pp/pn?

Thanks in advance for your help...

Hey!

I've secured my date and actually we are leaving exactly a year from today! November 26, 2013. I live in Sudbury, Ontario and my travel agent lives in Welland, Ontario. She is with Rose City Travel and we correspond by e-mail. I told her the date I wanted and she secured 30 seats (15 rooms at double occupancy) at the Riu Ocho Rios for $1299.00 Tax in per person. I thought it was a super deal so I jumped on that. To date, we have 30 people attending our wedding. My travel agent is FANTASTIC! Pm me if you would like more information on her. We are so excited!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
