welcome3.gif to the forum! So glad we can help you plan. When I first asked Chandlyn about the dinner, she sent me 3 menus to choose from (ranging from $25-35 per person). It was only after asking her directly if there was a "free" menu that she emailed me that one. I know it is posted in one of the threads in the Jamaica section of the forum. If you can't find it, let me know and I can email it to you. Let us know what else you need help with!!!

But if you would like me to take pictures when I am there I would be happy too. Just email me to remind me, I will send them to you when we get back. For any of the other Brides if you would like pictures of something just let me know and I will be happy to have more reasons to take more pictures...lol Just let me know what you guys want...
Thank you everyone for your welcome!

Jerzzygirl, I would really appreciate pictures of the Plantation restaurant. I was under the impression the Plantation had two levels to it. I wonder why Chandlyn quoted us $50 a head, when I would rather have the included menu! We'll have to contact her.

Does anyone know where to get deep colorful bouquets off site? I'm not a huge fan of carnations.

Also, are all the cakes they make vanilla or chocolate sponge cakes with rum in them? That is the impression I have received so far.

Ok, I have to talk a "little" about the wedding plans please smile123.gif
As of today, we have 54 confirmed guests. Most of them are on my side because all of my family are coming in from Western Canada, and seats tend to be limited. My FH's family are all from the Toronto area and flights leave daily from there, so they are taking their sweet pea time booking! Grrr!
The night before the wedding we are having the rehearsal at 6 pm and reserving dinner at Mammee Restaurant for the bridal party, their spouses, and our parents (probably about 20 ppl).
Then the next day my girls, mothers, and I are spending some of the day at Renova Spa getting massages, pedicures, manicures, and bridal hair styles. All these treatments are gifts to my bridal party from myself to thank them for being part of this amazing day.
Our wedding is planned for 4:30 pm. I actually wanted it later, like when the sun was exactly setting...but my FH wanted pictures after the ceremony. As it is, I think time will be tight!
Our color is Ice Blue. I love it matched with tan linen. My FH looks amazingly hot in his outfit!!! He looks like Tubbs off of Miami Vice...lol, I think I'm dating myself! He has dark coloring with a tan linen suit and white linen shirt *sigh*. My bridesmaids are all dressed in beautiful ice blue, tea length, summer dresses.
After the ceremony, we are having cocktail hour until we have dinner reserved at the Plantation Restaurant at 6:30-8:30. The disco is reserved from 9:00-11:00 pm. That is where we'll do the first dance, speeches, other fun stuff!
That's it! I'm very very excited! I would say I'm sorry I rambled on....but I would be lying :)

I look forward to hearing from you all!

Jerzzygirl...I would love some pictures of the plantation. I am actually trying to figure out the different set-ups there for the wedding for decorating purposes. Maybe Chandalyn will have some she can give you, if you don't see it set up while your there. I would also love some pictures of the disco.

Thanks Lizz! I really appreciate if you could send me the free menu. I'll PM you my email address (once I figure out how!). I'll then pass it on to my MIL. She is a travel agent and previously booked a large wedding party at the ROR last winter. Hopefully her connections will help smooth this whole process and make things happen when we get there!
Do you remember the bride who was putting together a little booklet? I would be so interested in obtaining one, if she would be ok with that. Would you have her contact information?

Having this forum is a godsend!

Your wedding plans sound great! You should post pics of your FH's suit and your bm dresses, and YOUR wedding dress of course! They all sound beautiful!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
