1) I cut a long piece of stretchy cord (I don't know what it's actually called LOL but you can find it in the bead section of any craft store) and put about 3 1/2 to 4 inches of tiny beads on. This will be the part that goes around your toe, so you don't want huge beads that might be uncomfortable between your toes!

2) Next, fold the cord in half and start beading over both ends:

3) I tried mine on several times to see how far it came up my foot. I took beads off and added different ones at least 10 times until I got the length right. Then I added one big last bead before splitting off the strands again:

4) Then you want to separate the two strands again and start beading away! Again, I tried these on multiple times to see how many more beads to add. A lot of trial and error :)

5) Finally, tie them off! I tied about a million knots, LOL Here is the finished product!

And on my foot:

You have definitely made it look super easy! I am going to have to give it a try! :) Thanks!

I love the idea of barefoot sandals but for those of you who have actually used them... What other shoes will the attendants wear? I know from personal experience sand can be hot lol...Lastly and I know this should be a no brainer, but What if people don't want to be barefoot? I'm just coming up with all the lame excuses I will probably hear. I like the idea of them!! If I can save my attendants money on having to buy shoes?! this is fantastic!!

I made some for myself and my sisters (the bridesmaids).  They wore them on the beach for the ceremony and photos.  We were married later in the afternoon and the sand was not hot at all.  They also had shoes for the reception (which was not held on the beach), but never ended up putting on their shoes.  I think they felt comfortable with the foot jewelry because they didn't really feel like they weren't wearing anything on their feet - they looked really pretty.

I likely spent about $25 on all of the materials for 4 pairs and I have TONS of beads left.  I probably only used 1/4 of the beads.  I bought seed beads at the dollar store, and the rest came from Hobby Lobby, Walmart, and Michaels.

i might look into this.  Is this a one size fits most kinda thing?  Did you use the stretchy string?

I used stretchy string, but one size definitely does not fit all.  Two of my sisters have the same size feet as I do, which made making them very easy.  My youngest sister has larger feet, and it was hard to know exactly how much bigger to make them.  We live very far apart, so I ended up making two different pair of different sizes for her, and thankfully one of them fit!  If you can have your BMs try them out while you are making them it will be easier.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
