Makeup Tips/Advice

Recommended Posts

The closer I get to the big day (less than 4 months!), the more anxious I get about my makeup.  I've been trying to read up on beach wedding makeup, but I feel like I don't really get any consistent information.

What are some helpful makeup tips or advice?  I've read that you shouldn't use a moisturizer or makeup with SPF in it the day of, because it could make your face shiny.  What else should we remember to do or avoid?

I hear to keep some powder or tissue so that you can blot away any shiney... Also I know that airbrush foundation stays much longer than traditional makeup- I'm pretty sure there is no one on my island - where I'm getting married- has it... but maybe they have that on yours.

I had my makeup done at the spa at the resort I was married at.  I had used moisturizer that morning although, just sparingly as my skin was really moisturized from the humidity.  I think the one thing I was worried about was waterproof products, such as eyeliner and mascara.  If you are doing your own makeup I suggest using products you are familiar with.

I was thinking about going to MAC and having them do my makeup how I would want it for the wedding and seeing what tips or advice they offer. Then buy the products they use. LOL. I know it will be a pretty penny but its my wedding and I dont want my every day makeup.

I'm planning on doing this as well. Are you still going to use the resort makeup person to do it? Or are you going to just do it on your own?

I've heard some stories about this not going too well if you don't bring your own product and a pretty clear idea of what you want to look like.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
