***TULUM BRIDES 2012-2013***

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I am new to this forum and just starting to dip my toes into Tulum wedding venue research. My fiance and I are hoping to serve vegan cuisine at the reception, but so far, have not found any hotels that seem to specialize. There is a very charming vegan restaurant, Restaurare, that has great reviews on Trip Advisor. Does anyone happen to know of any venues that do not have their own restaurant or would otherwise would allow catering? Would also love any recommendations for planners that are not exclusive to specific hotels.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Hello,

I'm also new to this forum and was hoping to get suggestions for venues and wedding planners. We're planning to serve vegan cuisine and while most hotels say they can offer vegan options, few (if any) specialize in vegan/vegetarian. From everything we've seen, Restaurare has the most experience with inventive vegan menus. Has anyone come across venues that permit outside catering? We'd also love suggestions for wedding planners/coordinators that might be able to help us locate a great venue and coordinate catering/rentals.

Thanks for any suggestions!

She's my photographer and wedding coordinator when communication broke down with my resort, did not receive responses to my emails for weeks on end she offered to help.  She stated from the beginning that she would be available to assist in any way and she is quick on responses and has our vision as to how we would like the day to go   She's not just a photographer she has a background in the service industry and planning events!   She's amazing!

Hey Lindsay! Have you considered renting a villa and using it as your wedding ceremony & reception location? I'm not sure how many people are coming to your wedding, but if you have a smaller wedding a villa would be a great option for you, since you would have to have the reception catered.

We ended up with 72 guests so renting a villa wasn't the route we ended up going, but I did lots of research on possible villas in the area during the beginning stages of our planning. PM me if you'd like some more info!

Hello Ibatts,

As a wedding coordinator in the Riviera Maya, I would also suggests the best option for you would be renting out a location/ villa that will allow you to work with a caterer. Some villa do allow you to just rent out a full day to host your wedding only without staying there. Best part is that you will have a privacy since most of the villas are secluded. We do know some really excellence Caterers in the Area and that can cater for your need.

Check out this video below of a wedding at a villa super informal dinner and everyone had a blust!

Hello future Tulum brides! I'm a newlywed from Vancouver, Canada that lives down here in Playa Del Carmen. My husband and I were married in May at El Bistro Restaurant, which is at The Beach & Cabañas Tulum. The hotels are sister hotels, and I would highly recommend them as a venue!

I have quite a few decor items leftover from our wedding in May, mostly in a rustic vintage style. I've decided to rent things out to brides that don't want to lug things like vases & mason jars down here to Mexico, and have priced things quite fairly compared to the resorts' prices. I have a lots of different types of bottles, mason jars, vases and lanterns, as well as a variety of other items like wooden signs & frames and rustic birdcages.

If you want a Style Me Pretty or Ruffled type of wedding in Tulum without a huge price tag, I'm your gal! I'm also always interested in buying items that brides bring down and would like to sell after their weddings.

If you'd like to see some photos and a price list, please send me a PM with your email address and I'll send you all the info. Also if anyone has any questions about the area, ask away! I've lived in Playa for two years and know the Tulum area quite well. Happy planning ladies!

Here's a couple of photos of the items we used in our wedding:

@@DreamWedding that villa wedding looked amazing! I'm also having a 70%vegan menu and a villa wedding. We are going for our site visit in 3 week. Which Villa was that in the video? Also how much would it cost to do fireworks on the beach? And is it legal to release Chinese lanterns in the air or do a bon fire on the beach?

Thank you so much and looks like i'm not the only Vegan Tulum bride 2014 out there;))

Torifire-

Congratulations on your engagement! I would have LOVED to have a villa wedding, but it wasn't in the cards financially.  And Tulum is gorgeous!  I can tell you (because I asked) that Chinese fire lanterns are banned in the RM area, unless something has changed. Restrictions on fire are really increasing (for example, I was seriously bummed to find out that I wouldn't be able to have fire dancers at my reception).  I would definitely check with your wedding planner for the latest updates on this one.

Hello Tulum brides, and congrats on your past and upcoming Tulum weddings! My husband and I were married at El Bistro Ziggy Beach at The Beach & Cabañas Tulum Hotels. The venue and hotels were great, and the staff there are amazing! Every time we go back we feel like family.

We actually live down here in Playa Del Carmen, and Tulum is our favourite place along the entire coast. If you have a wedding coming up, feel free to ask me any questions you may have, as I have spent quite a bit of time down there, as well as lots of time researching all the venues. You can see our engagement and wedding photos in my signature, both of which were in Tulum. (Both the town and the beach)

We also just got our wedding video that our friend put together for us, if you'd like to get a feel for the area! He really captured the feeling of Tulum with the video. The song we chose was written by a musician that spent two months down there living in a tent, so the song really feels like the area as well.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
