Personalizing a Cruise Wedding

As I'm sure many of you are, I am hooked on Pinterest. I am only "pre-engaged" - BF put a deposit on a ring for a couple weeks, but I've been pinning away for a couple months now!

For those of you who are planning a cruise wedding, how much of your own flair and decor can you bring with you? I just read you can't bring anything edible or floral, which stinks since I kinda wanted a unique bouquet made by a friend, but what about other things, like decor, aisle runner, centerpieces...will they allow you to do anything like that?

On a positive note, if we go ahead with this idea, I am SO looking forward to having a salon on board! :D <3

You can bring certain edible items, like for favors, but you should check with your coordinator to find out the details.

You can do decor, aisle runner and centerpieces, but they'll tell you that someone from your party is responsible for setting them up. They usually end up helping with little things from what I've read, but it all depends on the coordinator you get.

The other thing they say is no confetti, bubbles, etc.

Keep in mind if you're doing an embarkation day wedding, you won't be able to use the ship's salon. You'll need to be ready before you board. If you're doing a shipboard or island wedding, during the cruise you can use the salon.

Good luck, and congrats!!

I brought tons of custom items, but nothing that could really be classified as "decor"... I brought a seating chart (in a large picture frame), table numbers/kissing menus & stands, drinking straws with flags, custom guestbook sign, some "diamonds" to scatter around my cake table, guestbok table, and seating chart table, custom cake topper, and custom napkins. I also made detailed programs for the ceremony. I found that using my own table numbers/kissing signs was enough "decor" for the tables in addition to the decor that Carnival alread had on the tables.

I know it's not the same but you could do a really nice 'artificial' floral bouquet using all the flowers that you want. I believe you can take on fake flowers just not real ones.

I am trying to hunt down pictures of the bouquets available on Carnival and when I do I will try and post here but once I see them I will try and figure out if it is bad enough for me to make my own bouquet and bring it on.

I wouldn't worry so much but I do love some of the shots of the bride holding flowers and would love to have the perfect bouquet...bonus it wont wilt...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
