Acireta's Planning Journal - April 3, 2012 Cruise Wedding

I got mine from Michaels, and they have them in a bunch of different sizes. Here is the punch that I used for the circle stickers (1.5"), it's nice because you can see through to what you're punching before you cut:

I used a 3" punch for the bag tags. I set all my images to .1" less than the punch I was using so I'd have the slightest sliver of clearance around the tag/monogram.

I think i may have already asked, but what circle punch did you use to cut the monograms?i got one from Marha stewart, but u think it will have to go back, cause its the one that you have to press down(2x2)i think, but its really hard to see what im cutting.

also i have tried to position all the monograms in Microsoft word uniformly next to each other so i can print bunch per per page, but its coming out looking way too big, what size do you think i should save is as?thank you, thank you!post some pic from the wedding

I don't have all the pro pics yet, but I got a couple proofs yesterday...

Thank you!! I'm starting to organize everyone's pictures tonight to start working on the slideshow. At least I have a bunch of flights this weekend to give me the time to work on it!

I used the 1.5" for stickers and labels in various places, and it's not as small as it sounds. I used it for gift bag stickers, sugar scrub tags, seals for my pretrip packets, etc.

I just realized I was supposed to post more info on the sugar scrubs when I got back. I'm sorry for the delay!

Supplies for each scrub jar

8 oz. clear round wide-mouth jars (http://www.uline.com/Product/Detail/S-9935/Jars-Jugs-Bottles/8-oz-Clear-Round-Wide-Mouth-Jars)

1 cup white granulated sugar

1/3 cup safflower oil

15-20 drops fragrance oil (soap-making aisle at craft store; I got a variety pack with lavender, vanilla, coconut, pink grapfruit, mango & melon)

I made 40 jars using 5 bags sugar and 1.5 big bottles of oil.

I made labels for the jars on shipping label paper, and tied a cardstock thank you tag to each jar with twine from Ace Hardware. The thank you tags said "Thank you for making my shower so SWEET!" since they were sugar scrubs.

  • 2 weeks later...

So our AHR was last night and it was awesome! We had a slideshow of the wedding pictures, a candy buffet, heavy appetizers, cupcakes and open bar, and about 125 of our friends and family from all over the country were there.

Here is the candy buffet all set up, it was a HUGE hit!

Here are the two different centerpieces we had on the low round tables:

These were on the high cocktail tables:

We had a table with wedding pictures and my bouquet set up for gifts:

Instead of a guest book, we had a fingerprint tree with blue and green inkpads, pens to sign and alcohol swabs:

I got my hair done, I wore my wedding dress, Al wore his wedding clothes. We played the shoe game, had a couple toasts and made a thank you speech. Hopefully I'll get some pictures from friends and family since we didn't have a photographer.

It was an awesome night, and it went so quickly! I couldn't imagine having that kind of party on the same day as the wedding. I would have been so stressed!

Next project - posting up pro pics here and on Facebook!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
