OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

Hi Megan816! I am also planning a wedding in June 2013 ath Now Jade, June 14th!  What is your date? I'm super excited but a bit nervous as I will not be seeing the resort before. I've never even been to Cancun! We have the Pergola, Mix Bar and Terrace for the reception. I am attending the webinar on the 24th though ;) Can't wait to read your review after your site visit!

Wow! Tisha, thank you so very much for taking the time to do this! It is very helpful!

I do have one question. What do they mean by $250 set up fee for a bar at the reception? I thought the drinks were included with the package at the reception?

The reception includes wait staff who will take your order and get your drinks.  However, they get those drinks from the nearby bars which are open.

If you'd like a private bar for your reception, it's a $250 fee.  This would mean that your guests would get drinks faster, and could even go to the bar and order them themselves rather than having the wait staff get them.

Hi Shannon,

We are getting married on June 13, 2013...the day before you :-)  We are also getting married in the Pergola, coctails at the Mix Bar, but having our reception in the bamboo room.  I love the terrace but I'm worried about the heat.  We will see how hot it is when we go this June and consider switching.  I will be happy to send you pictures and all of the information I find out. Let's do this together!  I need someone to talk to and two heads are better than one :-) Have you chosen a package?  Are you going to use the resort's flowers and photographer?

Meagan-

Oh wow! How exciting! Absolutely-we should definitely do this together! I'd love for you to send me pictures when you visit and to let me know how hot it is when you visit this June. Do you know how many people you will have? We are sending out our save the dates in May/June but I estimate anywhere from 30-50 people, but who knows! I hear that the people you expect to come, won't & the ones you don't expect will! As of right now we chose the Eternity Package. The only reason I would consider upgrading to the Divine is for the food choice and videography but for now, I think we'll stick with the Eternity and probably just add the videographer. What did you choose? Have you gotten the price of the package for 2013? I wonder when that comes out? I will probably just go with the resort flowers or possibly make my own (actually have a friend do that since I am NOT crafty AT ALL!). Also, I'll use the resort photographer. I am trying to keep things as cheap as possible. Are you having a wedding party? We are having 3 on each side. I honestly wanted just a maid of honor and best man to keep things simple but fiance insisted that he needed 3! Are you doing a legal ceremony? We are planning to marry before we leave.

Thank you for the information, I am currently deciding between having my wedding at Now Jade and Dreams Cancun. I love the look of Now Jade, but love the location of Dreams Cancun( swimming with Dolphins!). Is transportation, i.e. taxi difficult to get to go into the nightlife area of Cancun. I heard Dreams Cancun was undergoing a renovation soon( this would be perfect), but I have not received a confirmation from the hotel. Any assistance provided is greatly appreciated.

    • When it comes to your Wedding Clothes, it's pretty normal to be flooded by numerous choices that are available in the market like clothing style, pattern, fabric, and colors.  Absolutely, I liked this dress and I will never miss wearing this outfit for the wedding. Thank you for sharing this post.
    • Hi guys! Thank you for sharing the valuable information. Some students think, “How do I write my book review?” and are confused by this sort of task, and others are happy to do it and enjoy the writing process a lot. Such a difference in perception and attitudes is caused by the ambivalence of this task.
    • Hi All, I have just gotten in touch with a TA and we are in the process of getting quotes for our wedding in either DR or Mexico. Now she said something that I wasn't  aware of and I wonder how others handled this as I just can't believe that we are the only one in this situation. We feel we are asking our guests already a for a lot to come a long way to our wedding (our guests come from Canada and Germany) and there are a few that wouldn't want to miss it (like my partner's brother) but they just don't have a lot of money. Our budget doesn't allow us to chip in for flights and accommodation so we are basically asking everyone to save up money for our big event. Now we are planning the wedding at a resort that I know some of our guests can't (or don't want to) pay for. We were hoping to find a place where guests have the option to book themselves a cheaper hotel or an AirBnB nearby and only come to our wedding. Our TA told us that the resort might not allow that or only for a limited percentage of our guests. That is terrible news for us! I think that a good 50% of our guests will also stay at the resort for one, two or even three weeks but how can we 'force' other people to stay at the hotel of OUR choice?  I get that the resort would charge a fee for day guests and obviously we expect to pay for food and drinks but I didn't know that we would have to agree to a certain percentage of the guests staying at the resort. I don't feel we have control over that. How do others handle that?
