OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

How is the beach at Now Jade? It is very important to our family that the beach is nice.

Every time I see pictures, it looks like no one is in the water? Can you not swim there? Is it rocky?

 You know... the beach is something that was very important to us and if you are looking for a swimable, non-rocky beach I would suggest staying north in Cancun.  The beaches in the Riviera Maya tend to be rocky.  Now Jade did have a small area on the non-preferred side that was more clear of rocks than the rest of the beach.  The actual beaches are nice...just rocky once in the water.

 

  I've stayed from Playa del Carmen and Puerto Morelos down to Tulum and most were rocky beaches (with the exception of Maroma Beach....if you an afford Secrets Maroma...book it!)   Cancun beaches are more wide, flat and hardly any rocks if any at all.  If thats something extremely important then Now Jade may not be your place.  Keep in mind, the majority of your time will probably be spent in and around the pool areas.  If your family and friends are "pool people" then this is an excellent resort.

Secrets Maroma and Barcelo both have really nice beaches! We love the beach too but just like Kerri said....we didn't spend any time on the beach! Everyone hung out at the pool!

Thanks for the answer! Is it only rocky while you are walking into the water  and then it's just sand? or is it rocky even while you are in the water?

Hi ladies,

 

Can anyone explain to me the $20 per person rate for a group at a restaurant? Does this mean if you have your reception (with the eternity or divine package) at a restaurant, it is actually 20 pp more than if you have it totally private with the included eternity or divine package food? Or would this be covered within the package, and anyone over the 25 would be $20? I'm trying to decide if it would be easier to have it at a restaurant and not have to worry about decorations or DJs. We aren't really a dancing crowd anyway. What do you guys think?

For the Eternity Package it is $48 per person over 25 people and for the Divine is it $53 per person extra over 25. If you do not choose one of these packages, it is $20 per person over 10 people to have it at a restaurant. If you want a private reception you have to pay $500 for a private terrace, plus $20 per person (i believe). It depends on how many guest you have but if you are going with the Eternity or Divine package anyways, I would take advantage of the private reception which includes up to 25 people since you are paying for that in the package anyways. You don't have to do a dj, especially since your not a dancing crowd you could always use your ipod with the sound system. And as for decorations, I plan on bring very few things, chair sashes, table runners, & paper lanterns which all do not take up too much room and are easy to travel with. I still haven't decided on centerpieces, but whichever I decide, it will be pretty simple.

Just to clarify - if you are doing Eternity or Devine you do NOT have to pay to rent a terrace or private room (ie Bamboo room) for your reception - that is part of the package.  If you wanted to rent a terrace for a private dinner outside of the wedding package (ie welcome dinner) then you would have the $500 fee (this does not cover the cost of any food - rental only).  The $20pp is for semi-private group bookings in the restaurants...it goes towards dedicated wait staff, setting up tables together etc.  There is no charge for groups at the buffet so that is a great option for welcome dinners or a rehearsal dinner if you care to have one.

Thank you for clarifying. After re-reading my post, it did seem a bit confusing about the $500 private reception fee.

Hey ladies, Iâ€m looking for a bit of clarification/insight regarding entrée selections and seating. I want to be able to provide my guests with the option to choose their entrée†s but I donâ€t want to coordinate assigned seating. My guest count is +/- 25 and I plan on having a long table set-up. What is the best approach for this scenario without accruing added cost from the resort? Do I just provide Pilar with quantities per entrée selection and create placecards with the guests name and entrée selection and direct them to choose a seat and place it on their plates? Is this acceptable? I'm open to suggestions.
