The set up for the chairs is included for the ceremony but to move them to the reception is another 40 dollors. Also what we have just found out is that I you pay by credit card you have a handling fee plus a lower exchange rate than if you pay in cash so we just got stung for an extra £200 because no one told us this before hand.
Try to pay as much in cash as possible.

The food is the only difference. All are 4 courses but you can mix and match your menu.
Hope this helps x

Thanks for the info Natasha! Do you know if that is only for the 25 people? Do you have to pay mroe for set up after that?

Thanks!!

I know most beides typically receive an invoice from the resort foe checks and balances. With efforts to cut down on dealing with and exchange rate AND/OR carrying tons if cash, are we allowed to pay our tentative balance prior to arriving? Cash/Credit would then only be needed for last minute changes.

Does anyone know if travels checks are accepted and a way to avoid some of the service charges or transaction fees?  Could you pay the bulk with travelers checks and the last little amount with a credit card?

That's a really great idea. This is the first I've heard of the extra transaction fees, so I'm curious as well about ways to avoid.

Has any one had their wedding dinner or are they planning their wedding dinner, or even a rehearsal dinner, in one of the ale carte restaurants with over 10 guests?  I know that they charge $22 p/p for this, but we are being told that they do not know what restaurants will be open on the date of our wedding (which is only 45 days away) ??? We are considering doing our wedding dinner at Capers but Isela said that they will not know if it is open that night until about a week before.  How can anyone plan anything then?  Any past experiences with this?  This is the last big detail we have to work out,

Hi AdamShannon,

We initially was going to have our reception in one of the restaurants because we had the moments package ( i was told there was only a couple of choices, Tamarindo and Capers, however you could choose menu's from the other restuarants) we actually decided against the whole moments package thing and upgraded to the divine package as we had 25 guests and realised that financially it worked out to the same kind of money that we were spending but we would get so much more for our money.  It was way working out way to pricey to pay 22usd per person for dinner in one of the restaurants of which we could not play our own music and no guarantees that the restuarant would be closed for us.

We was never told that we would not be able to decide on a restaurant until 10 days before, Pilar had told me I could chhose from the 2 mentioned restaurants so i am not sure why this is the case now.

Im about 7 months away from our wedding and although i still have time it seems like its coming so fast!!!! Im going to order invitations soon and im thinking of mailing them out beginning of january and asking for the RSVP by March 1st. Our wedding is may 16th.. does this timing sound about right?

For past brides or any brides to be.. has anyone not given the dj a set list of songs and just let them wing it? I am going to give a few specific songs that must be played like our wedding song and mother son and father daughter dances but I am just soo bad with remembering names of songs and artists... Im thinking about just telling the DJ the type of music we like and hopefully they will just play good songs? I dont know if this is risky to do... any suggestions? OHHH and one more thing.. where are you ladies planning on going for your honey moon if you plan on leaving now jade?   I want to move onto a different resort  still in riviera maya area for about 5 or 6 days to honeymoon but not sure where to go.

Hi Emma, I am getting married at Now Jade May 17, 2014! Woohooo. I also feel like time is flying, and I really haven't done much aside from sending out Save the Dates, getting my wedding dress, and getting my bridal party booked. I am planning to get my Invites out at some point in November - December and I'd like to have the RSVP by probably February. I just want to know what's going on a little bit early. As far as the honeymoon is concerned, we haven't booked yet but we are thinking about El Dorado Resort & Spa. We are only going to stay for 3 or 4 nights because of we are spending 6 nights at Now Jade. Have you had much contact with Pilar or anyone from the Now Jade resort yet? I haven't had any, but I figure I still have time. Mandy

Good evening, I asked today in the wedding office as we were settling everything if you could pay by travellers cheques and I was told yes. May be worth emailing the hotel to confirm as this is where you settle the final bill.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
