I have a couple of questions and was hoping that someone could advise me?? I have been going through this thread but there is sooooo much to read so im really sorry if this has been answered before!!!

We are waiting on confirmation on our actual wedding date (feb 2014) but we are definatly going for the divine wedding package.

does anyone know the following...

1- Is the beach pergola decorated in this package or is it extra?? I guess that the flowers would be an extra but what about the fabric??

2- Is it worth me taking my own table place cards, menus and napkins etc???

3- Does anyone know approx how much extra flowers cost for the reception tables and pergola???

4- And lastly I was wondering if anyone could be kind enough to email me the wedding planning list that Pilar sends to people just so that I can have a little more of an idea on things!!! my email is [email protected]

Many, many thanks in advance

Kelly

I'll give it a try!

1 - the fabric for the pergola is included (just plain white i believe there is an extra cost or you must bring your own if you want colour). The flower medallions are included with the Divine package (Pilar just told me this, didn't really advertise it as such), they use tropical flowers which match your wedding colours.  Also in the divine package is a floral arrangement for the judge's table during the ceremony )(that can be used elsewhere during the reception).  Any other flowers ie for wedding party, chair decor etc are extra.

2 - Not sure - we aren't bothering with bringing napkins down since our colours our blue and white so the standard white they provide will work just fine.  I am making table place cards though so the wait staff can identify who gets which entree (ie steak will have dark blue background, tuna light blue, vegetarian white or something like that).  Menu cards are up in the air right now, I have read the resort provides them sometimes and brides didn't even realize that, I may do a single card for the table?

3 - It is best to send Pilar pictures of potential centerpieces and get a quote for her, if you go back to late summer of this year on this thread we had a discussion and I posted three options that pilar had priced (if memory serves $65 - 130ish) each.

4 - sending you the planning form now.

Good Luck!

Yes, you will be upgraded to preferred. We had already booked an oceanfront room so they didn't upgrade our room but we were given all of the "perks" of being preferred.

We are getting married at 5:30 on the Pergola, mix bar for cocktails, and reception in the bamboo room.  I am going with the resort florist but keeping it simple also..I only have 1 bridesmaid.  I did decide to hire an outside photographer though..Photos in Cancun.  I am guessing we will have around 35 guests too, but so many are procrastinating on booking. Are you having a DJ? Yes, we went on a site visit last June when we were choosing a resort for our wedding.  What are you doing for decoration? Have you sent your invitations?
We are getting a dj...I told her we want one but nothing was really said from there so I hope it's booked! I sent out passport save the dates in August with travel agent info and resort flyer. We're working on ordering invitations now but more of just an announcement because we pretty much know who's booked and going. Decorations keeping simple too... Star fish, shells, sand dollars probably candles with batteries because not sure about weather and there lighter for suitcase. Then the flowers from purgala they said they put them in reception area. I'm still thinking about bringing my own table runners...possibly burlap? I bought fake flowers that are color of wedding party guava and thinking about putting them on cake. I seen pics the real ones don't look anything like what the make you choose from. Cocktail our have just napkins and sign for signature drink. Heard there's Walmart in cancan but not sure if I wanna take a day away to buy decorations?! How about you?

Goin with adventure photos too through them...just seemed a little easier and there photos werent bad. We have 36 total...how about you? So you have been there before?

I'll be looking for you & Meagan's wedding! We arrive on the 12th for our Friday, the 14th wedding!

Hey Ladies,

I inquired with Pilar about the table menus and she did say they could do them for 50 cents each. I opted to do this since it saves me thr trouble of making them/packing..

Interesting! I think I may let them take care of this as well! Do you know if you are able to pick a colored paper or are they white? I'm fine with either way but I'm just curious. Thank you for the info.

Hi Gals!

I am an official Now Jade Dec 6, 2013 bride :)  So exciting to be a part of the club!  Thanks so much for all the great advice and help thus far - i have been reading the forum while deciding venues and starting to plan!

I am actually going to Cancun for a 'girls trip' on Jan 18 and meeting with Pilar on the 19th to do a food tasting so if you have any pressing questions please let me know! I can also give you my run-down on the food if interested.  I also went down for a site visit in October and have photos and video of all the locations...

The one thing I am missing at this point is the spreadsheet with all the options/costs... and we all know how quick she is to respond... :)  does anyone have that, and if so could you email it to me?? my email is [email protected]. thanks so much and happy planning!

heya, that will be interesting to know the outcome of your food tasting!!!

Im just waiting for confirmation of my wedding date of the 19th Feb 2014, could anyone tall me what the weather is like in the evenings?? Ive heard that the temperature drops somewhat so this obviously is a major factor in my decision on where to have my reception... I did want it on the terrace but may opt for the bamboo room if its chilly at night.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
