We just received an email from Pilar- $350.00 surcharge to use outside flowers :(   I think I might use my bouquet in the Divine pkg and get my girls to carry parasols?

Thanks for the feedback ladies - Pilar did respond to my email (in about 24 hrs no less!) to say 2 options...I know we have a few vegetarians with us so I'm going to do 2 "meat" entrees and then the veg option. I replied to Pilar's email to ask/tell her that was plan, if we only have 2 choices I don't want one to be vegetarian when I know most people won't go for that by choice.

Pilar advsied us 2 choices, plus 1 veg option, plus 2 options for children's if that helps....

Also- to the pther poster- Pilar said the menu must be set inadvance, not last-minute, day of event changes....

Also, I thought Jade was one of the cheaper.  We are going with Apple Vacations and they are giving us price reassurance.  We are blocking 10 rooms for a $500 deposit.  Then, that deposit will go to our stay.  All the guests have to do pay a $50 deposit for their room and pay nothing else until 70 days before they leave.  And, we will get the best prices that way.

Hi Ladies,

We just got our invoice from Pilar- eek!  Did you know they charge $150.00 just to have a podium at the reception?  $150.00!   Photographer Day pass $65.00 per photographer, so since we are using Photos in Cancun, we have to pay $130.00 for them to come :(   I expected that though.

Also- for those doing a sand ceremony- Pilar will provide it at the resort for $60.00.   To set up the chair bows, $1 per bow.

I bet that you won't pay the day fee for the photographer...mine came 2 days and I didn't pay for either day even though she quoted me that price before I arrived there. I wouldn't stress too much about it!

We also made it part of our wedding website RSVP to select an entree. Most people are pretty used to it from other weddings I think..

I can't remember exactly how many songs I sent him but it might have been around 20.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
