Dj question....now jade says their dj's are 1000 for 3 hours right? Well one of their DNA I got a price from and it's 750usd for the dj and lights....I'm confused....using them I thought I wouldn't be paying a vendor fee but do they really just charge more for them? I know if I email pilar or whoever is there now it will be days or weeks til I hear from them. Has anyone dealt with this before? Also previous brides if you paid the 1000 did you get lights included? (Not the dance floor that's separate charge from both)

My contract shows $1000 for 4 hours or $350 per hour plus the 16%. The light package is an additional $350 and the vendor fee for an outside DJ is $350. The dance floor is $928 for 1-50 people or $1392 from 50-100 in total (The 16% is included in these prices). Not sure if this helps or not!

My problem with the dj cost is the dj himself quoted cheaper then the resort...so it's almost like the resort is charging a vendor fee anyway to use him if for 750 I could get 3 hours and light package...950 for 4 hours and lights....I feel like I'm getting ripped off lol

Hi ladies!

Congrats to all the upcoming brides! Try not to stress too much.. once you meet with the coordinator its smooth sailing :)

I'm trying to get rid of some chair bows I used for our summer wedding at NJ. I have 77 total (12 new, 65 used) CORAL satin chair sashes (8x108). The used ones just would need ironing or dry cleaners, but they are folded nicely to avoid too many wrinkles. First come first serve. Please let me know if anyone is interested!

Thanks and happy planning!

Are these still available?! :)

Has anyone actually used the guitarist for their ceremony? How was it and did they use their own playlist or do we let them know what we would like to hear?

They have a list of songs you can choose from. I haven't had my wedding yet. But we're going to use the guitarist.

I too will be having the guitarist for our ceremony in just 2 weeks!! I choose the song I walk out to along with my bridesmaids and then what we end with. I told him he could pick anything while the guests were being seated or other times where music was needed.

Ohhhhh...I see your point. So for about $50 more ($750 plus the $300 vendor fee), you would be able to have lights? Otherwise you would pay the resort $1000 for only 3 hours of service.

On a totally unrelated note... Where is Isela?!? She would respond to my emails within 24 hours. Pilar, not so much. More like 1 week. I'm still waiting on a quote for kissing balls.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
