OFFICIAL NOW Jade Wedding Thread

Recommended Posts

I am getting married offsite but staying at the Now Jade. I really wanted to have the fire dancers at my wedding, but they are pretty much banned at the beach clubs--so I've had to come up with other options. If you feel like spending the money, you can opt for a Brazilian batucada (which is supposed to be really cool!) or water drums.  If the NJ doesn't offer the services, you might have to pay an outside vendor fee, but both of those options are pretty fun, IMHO!

that sounds cool but i dont know what it is! LOL what is brazilian batucada or water drums? And i dont think ive ever heard anyone from NJ mention them so idoubt they offer it. Do you have a contact number for an outside vendor that offers those?

Ok ladies, so im working on my planning form that needs to be sent in really soon! Does anyone have the cakes, and flower options they can email me please? emmaraykhlin@yahoo.com Thanks!!  Is this form like a finalization? Or am i gonna be able to adjust and change some things once we actually meet with the wedding coordinator?

Is anyone planning on bringing flower petals to decorate the aisle? If so, how many do you plan on bringing, and where are you purchasing them?!

I got my flowers from petalgarden.com. They mail out samples of their silk rose petals. I think you can choose up to 8 colors from their inventory. I purchased 1500 because I'm going to do fairly thick borders along the sides of the runner. I'll also use some for the cake table and around the guestbook area. Hope that helps.

Thank you so much! I just ordered a few samples! I was afraid to order too much or too little of something and then the color be something totally different than expected! Thank youuuuuu !!

Hey ladies! I hope everyones planning is going well! I have  quick question. I have 41 adults and 2 children, ages 10 and 6 coming to our wedding. I will be giving everyone mini tequila bottle favors that will be left on their plates. For the two girls, what should i put on their plates?

Also, for the ladies who have or are using the terrace for their reception, since its one long table, how are you going to assign the seating? With different tables its obviously easier to just have something that says the guest name and table number but with one long table im not sure how to assign seating.

Thanks!!

I would recommend for the table, maybe asking Pilar or Isela to reserve specific seating for like the bridal party/parents and then letting everyone sit where they'd like.. OR drawing out a seating plan to your liking and assigning place cards to each seat? I've seen this a lot at the catering job I used to have.. Just a thought! And for the girls, maybe a little seashell bracelet or necklace of some sort? I haven't gotten this far yet, but my baby sister is 10 and I've yet to decide on her favor!

Examples of Brazilian Batucada (starting at 4:40) and water drums from Party Planet productions. The first video has some other dance entertainment options as well.

You could make tags for the tequila bottles with names on them.  Give your seating chart to the WC at your meeting and they will arrange all of the bottles in the right spot.  I did this for my wedding with one long table, but instead we had small gift bags filled with chocolate.  I did this instead of place cards, as I was afraid they would blow over.  It worked perfectly.  :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
