Woohoo! Have a great time!

One thing I'd like to see is all of the stuff to eat/drink in the preferred club lounge. If you can get a few pics, that'd be great. I heard the alcohol in there is higher end and you can basically make your own drinks!  :D

There were definitely bottles of booze in there, but I couldn't find any mix anywhere. It wasn't clear if you poured your own and then asked for pop/soda or something from a server? There was also open bottles of wine and champagne you could help yourself to.

We have almost 100 guests.... the cost add up really fast for the reception dinner for any number of guests over 25. What did other people do that had a lot of guests?

Is it cheaper to have a buffet at the reception instead of a sit down meal?

Can we have part of the actual buffet restaurant reserved for us and then use our 3 hours of reception time for cake cutting, speeches, and dancing? I know this isn't the nicest option but it could save a lot of money.

Any other thoughts?

I am also interested in having a buffet instead of a plated dinner. I feel like I saw it somewhere but now I cannot find it for the life of me!

I am pretty sure with such a large group you cannot reserve part of the restaurant, you have to have a private event.

I'm with you on the costs exploding! We will also have 80-100 people. With this many people I think that the DJ is a must have, and I would like to extend the reception 1-2 hours....

As much as I want an awesome photographer, i may have to cut that in order to have a better reception. Not sure yet on anything!

We were thinking of doing a buffet on the side and wanted a few appetizers from there, and it ends up costing $48 plus 11% and 15% per each person for a private buffet and you choose from different buffet options. We just went with a plated dinner. You also need a minimum of 40-50 guests for buffet.

Has anyone done a butterfly release during their ceremony? I'm looking into it, wanted some feedback. (:

we wanted to do that too, but then I read this thread

My wedding is coming up sooooon! Feb. 28. I've been emailing with Ariadna Tort who is going to be filling in for Pilar because she will be going on maternity leave in early Feb.  I decided to go with the resort photographer and remember reading past entires from brides saying to request Veronica because she is really good.  Well just an FYI... I requested her but was told she doesn't work at the resort anymore! Booo hoooo.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
