Now I'm freaking out because we really expected to be upgraded to preferred and only booked a Jr Suite Tropical View :(

Complimentary room upgrade for the couple to the immediate superior category (based on availability, Ocean  Front  rooms   & Governor  Suite  not apply for  Upgrades) these means  if you have your reservation  Junior suite  tropical view  the upgrade  will be the  Junior suite ocean  view, if you have a junior suite  ocean view you will have  the up grade  to the preferred room ocean view.

If it helps, we also booked a Jr Suite Tropical View, and were upgraded to the Preferred Side.  I am pretty sure you'll end up on the preferred side :)

I probably should know this but are you suppose to brush your teeth with the sink water? I know I'd be careful not to swallow it, but I am having terrible dreams of becoming sick during our trip! :( I'm starting to get super paranoid! Should I use bottled water or have others been okay using the sink?

Definitely not. I'll be writing up a full review this week- the wedding was a wonderful time, but every single person in our group was sick with vomiting and diarrhea for the entire week. EVERYONE. And it definitely wasn't due to overindulgence of alcohol! One of our groomsmen was so sick, he had to leave right after the ceremony and we didn't see him for the rest of the night. Could just have been the sun, maybe too much food, maybe the ice cubes, who knows? But everyone felt awful. Do yourself a favour and pack LOTS of Imodium! It actually became the running joke of the week. Whenever someone was missing, we knew they were in the can ;) Kristen

That sucks, I'm sorry.  This is odd considering we stayed within a week of each other.  Only 1 person in my group had diarhea, but we attributed this to his obsession with watermellon and honeydew juice (natural laxative as we know).

Hi everyone! I am back too! (less than a week ago we returned) I have yet to write my review as I just can't seem to get the motivation to sit down and do so but will soon. Anyway, I wanted to give you all my 2 cents on the diarrhea issue. There were a lot of people in our group who had intestinal issues at Now Jade, including me. Mine only lasted a day and was never horrible but I took immodium right away and just 2 pills the one time and was fine the rest of the trip and at our honeymoon resort (royal playa del carmen) as well. My fiancé never got sick, but probably a good half the group of 30 people were having problems. I drank the water in the restaurants unless it had the smell (you'll know when it's tap water believe me!) and brushed my teeth with the water but never swallowed any water while brushing/swallowing and my fiancé did the same as I. I swear the intestinal issue is coming from the pool bar glasses in that non sanitary bucket of grossness. Everyone who spent a great deal of time there drinking mixed drinks (i.e.) not from a can) got a little sick. It was never anything that isn't to be expected when traveling but still not fun. Germs in an resort like that can spread like wildfire and I honestly feel like that's where it came from. We mentioned it to them when we checked out so hopefully they will do something about it if enough people speak up.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
