It's actually amazing that you said that about Pilar saying that to your travel agent.  I brought up her lack of communication to my TA and Pilar told her that she e-mailed me in the middle of March and was waiting for my reply.  However, I e-mailed her quite a few times after that with no response.  I am beginning to feel as though she is way over worked and I feel bad for her, but I also know what a wonderful job she does.

You are definitely not alone with all this.

Thanks!

I am finding this is very common.  The last I wrote them was in January and never heard back.  I have been relying pretty heavy on this forum and just trying to budget for what I think I really want.  I think that part of having a destination wedding is letting go and knowing that when we get there the experts will have it under control.  For things that I can control - like some decorations and welcome bags, I am taking care of that.  I totally hear you- it is difficult.  My fiance has been contacting the resort directly and has been getting quicker responses.  Maybe try that?

Btw everyone, thanks for sharing your wealth of info!

It is extremely common and definitly something that you have to get used to as they are way to over worked. I feel bad for the poor ladies, but as everyone says, everything will be more perfect then you could have ever dreamed! i cannot wait!!!!

All receptions are three hours long.  The extra hour cost depends on number of guests, however for 75 people it is approximately $1200.

If youâ€d like a private bar AT your reception location it is a $350 one time setup fee. (FYI, most brides have said this is not worth it.  You'll have more than enough servers at your event to keep your guests happy)

If you have over 50 people, you can have a buffet.  THIS post lists the buffet options.

The reception areas are either round tables that seat 6-10 or rectangle tables that seat up to 40 people.

There are divine and eternity dinner options (4 entree choices in total) and your guests can choose their entree in advance for free, or on the spot for an extra $30 per person, or you can choose for them for free.

Childrenâ€s menus are available for $20-25

The kid menu: fruit cocktail, cheese burger, chicken fingers, spaghetti, and ice cream.

The Vegetarian option is the same price as the other meals.  Here is the menu:

Vegetarian Menu

Salads:

  • Arugula salad companied with pear layers, lime vinaigrette and extra virgin olive oil
  • Toscana salad, mixed lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, asparagus, endives, Californian peaches and artichokes with sun dry tomato vinaigrette

Soup:

  • Minestrone soup and spinach

Main Course:

  • Pasta Penne in a tomato and basil sauce with vegetables
  • Vegetable lasagna

Desserts:

  • Cottage cheese foam and strawberries

I noticed in your post that the resort allows you to pick from 4 different options for the dinner menu... When looking at the wedding brochure there is only 2 options for the eternity and 2 for the devine... Are there other options besides what is in the brochure? Also i noticed that there is a lot of seafood in the brochure which could be a problem as not all my guest are seafood eaters... Thoughts?

I am getting married October 19th, and am bringing in 6 sets of a group of 3 cylinder vases.  I was wondering if anyone else will be there around this time and would be interested in them after I am done.  I am filling them with the clear water beads (like Orbeez), a blue submersible LED light and a floating candle on top.  They are also going to have blue ribbon around them.  I know that it is a pain to bring stuff like that over so I figured I would ask one of you fine ladies to make it a little easier.  The ribbon is going to be glued on with glue dots, but could be removed if needed.

If anyone is interested, just let me know!

Ack!!!   I am getting so frustrated with this whole trying to plan with Pilar thing!  I understand that she is busy, but taking a month in a half for a response that is incomplete is unacceptable.  After all of this time of trying to book a DJ to swap instead of the live music, she tells me 1 1/2 months ago that Doremixx is too expensive now and that they have a new inhouse DJ.  Not a problem with me, so I e-mail her and tell her that is fine.  I ask her about the sunset and if there is enough light, or if we can get lights for outside.  I just now get a response saying that she e-mailed me on March 17 saying that Doremixx was too expensive and that she never received my response about the in house.  And she said that sunset is 6:00 which is the time we are getting married, and to add lights it will be $350!  But, I am not sure if she is talking about lighting outside or inside the bamboo room (uplighting) considering I asked her about both.   I am just so tired of waiting around for responses and they are half ass at that.  Sorry for the vent.  I know it will work out ok, but I am trying to figure out how much extra we are going to come up with and with these responses it is hard to tell. Good evening , I had problems hearing back from Pilar as well . I have been communicating with Deisy. She takes a while to respond but once she emails you back she will be in constant response with you the whole day .. It seems as if they have a certain time they sit in front of computer and respond to message . Deisy Pool. • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
